Extremely easy, useful and enjoyable read
Extremely easy, useful and enjoyable read. I highly recommend this book for any amateur table tennis junkies trying to develop their game.Sam has put forth a very well written, and at times self deprecating, humorous tale packed full of great table tennis tips and insights. I could feel my game improving chapter by chapter. Haven't read anything else quite like it before. He also does a great job conveying the fears, embarrassment and challenges an adult player faces learning the game. This challenge, and Ben's website, helped me appreciate actually how many adults are going thru a similar journey to table tennis expertise. There is a lot of comfort in that. Thanks to Sam and Ben for the challenge and a wonderful book! Keep up all the great work!

Four Stars
Interesting for table tennis enthusiasts. Didn't really add anything for me. Very impractical for most of us.

A Great Read!
I read this book in one sitting. It's hard to put down! While "Expert in a Year" is not a technique book per se, almost any table tennis player will discover takeaways that will help her or his game. For me, the major takeaway was the overwhelming importance of the forehand loop. A second was increasing my confidence in reliance on my serve to set up pattern plays.

Recommended reading for all table tennis enthusiasts!
I enjoyed reading Expert in a Year. The progression from beginner to advanced player was well told, and in some cases informative for players like myself who are always trying to improve our game and learn something new. I would have liked to see a bit more technical information, but regardless, this book is recommended reading for all table tennis enthusiasts!

Great to have an idea what tabletennis is all anout ...
Great to have an idea what tabletennis is all anout the challenges you face and the way forward in general. No specifics on technique and training. Good for upping your game but will need more to get the basics.

I'm fascinated with learning about self motivation
I didn't know what to expect with this book. I got the book after watching the video. I'm glad I did. I loved reading about this guys journey in the world of table tennis. He makes some really good points and observations that can translate to anyone on a mission to achieve something. I don't play table tennis and I don't think I ever will. I however am fascinated with learning how people motivate themselves. Anyhow it's a good quick read.

Intriguing read
This book has a very real feeling to it. If that makes any sense. I have had many of the same feelings and experiences as the main character. I would recommend this to anyone looking to develop there game. Especially to those new to the sport. I gave it 5 stars because I hate to read, but I couldn’t put this one down. Well done.

Eye opebing book
This is the first book I have ever read front to back. Very insightful on what resources I was ignoring when i tried mastering something. I am currently mastering boxing and realized I should go to camps and see what others can teach me and not just my trainer.

Ótimo Livro!!
Esse livro não deveria ser lido apenas por pessoas que gostam de tênis de mesa. A verdade é serve de inspiração para qualquer pessoa que tenha alguma meta de longo ou médio prazo.

more of a story than a guide
Know what you're getting into with this book. This book is a story on how a random person became good at table tennis. His story will not be applicable and cannot be duplicated by you (the reader) as there isn't enough details on the regiment and procedures he followed.A fun read to get motivated on becoming better at table tennis or any sport in general.

A perdonal approach that was interesting to read
It provided a few helpful observations that are helpful to me, but it was personal in style and interesting to read.

Honest, Well Written & Interesting - I'd highly recommend this book
A nice, genuine and genuinely interesting book. Interesting specifically for anyone who's into Table Tennis (like me) but also for anyone who's interested in learning in general, challenging oneself or just reading about other people's experiences. The book is very honest and very well written with plenty of useful references for learning methods and also, of course, resources for table tennis. It's a bit of a page-turner too - I just bought the book a few hours ago and I'm already 50% through it (I've read more than enough to leave this review, already very impressed - it's a bargain at the price).
