***Updated Review: Amazing customer service
***Update:My previous review was a 1-star review. The product had serious issues that included a bendy blade, a serrated edge that shredded paper, and the fact that it required me to use two hands to make cuts. After posting my original review I returned the item without contacting the seller. After seeing my review, they actually reached out to me and put in an amazing effort to fix my issues, going above and beyond. Good customer service goes a long way in making a product worth the cost and in this case, they took this product from a 1 to a 5-star item. After reaching out to me and letting me know they saw and read my review, they noted the issues that I mentioned and worked super hard to fix them. They talked with their design team and ended up sending me different blades as well as a new base to test it out on. They sent me two types of blades, a serrated and a flat. I’ve attached a photo showing the three blades. The furthest to the left is the new serrated, the middle is the original blade that shipped with the unit, and the right is the flat blade. As you can see, the original blade is hollow in the center which led to the bending. The new blades are super high-quality, sturdy and durable. I ended up using the flat blade as it’s a better fit for my needs. The flat blade gives me crisp and clean lines. I’ve attached a photo of a tear that I made with the flat blade installed. I was able to make the tear with a single hand and it came out perfectly. If you’re looking for a product that has amazing customer service behind it and a really high-quality product that will last a lifetime, this is it. I’ll leave my original review posted below, but my mind has completely been changed and I’m in love with this product now.***Original Review:I ordered this paper roll cutter to use for trimming large rolls of butcher paper for sublimation. It does not work for my needs at all. The serrated cutter doesn’t gently cut the paper in a small zigzag pattern; it shreds the paper like shark teeth about a quarter inch deep. I’ve attached photos of the “best” cut I was able to get. Most of the practice cuts I attempted all ended with the paper tearing around ¾ of the way down the page. The only way to stop the paper from tearing is to hold down the bar the entire time you’re using it. This means that it can only be used with two hands. Half the point of getting a paper roll cutter is that you can do it with one hand. This defeats the purpose. For the current price of around $43, I was expecting this cutter to be well made with high-quality and sturdy materials. Admittedly, the base is sturdy, but the serrated cutting blade is flimsy and bends easily. After repeated use, I can only imagine it would permanently bend and become unusable.Putting this together isn’t difficult and can easily be done by a single person with only a screwdriver. Unfortunately, a lot of putting it together requires you to look at the photos of the product and use a little imagination. The instructions are awful and the included photos are difficult to make out. It doesn’t mention blade orientation or attaching the non-slip feet at all.Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this paper cutter to anyone. It does hold large rolls and the base is sturdy, but at best it’s an expensive paper roll holder. The cutting blade is useless, bends, and shreds and rips the paper far more often than cutting it. You can’t use it with a single hand and it’s more expensive than other options available without any added functionality.

Sturdy, Clean tear on newsprint for coloring
My 4 and 8 year old can get clean cuts with this on newsprint paper for coloring! It is not sharp, so safe, but has a spring to hold that helps. I found it also helps to hold the paper in the middle as you pull up and against the “blade” on one side. Once I showed this method to my kids they got it the first try. Granted, that’s with a lightweight paper. I was tired of constantly handing out and dealing with sheets of loose paper for my kids’ coloring sessions. I set this up with a role of simple newsprint packing paper and my kids are thrilled to be able to do it themselves. I love how sturdy this is and the little rubber feet work perfectly.

Great value!
Easy to assemble and came with extra screws and rubber feet. I always end up dropping and losing a screw or two so this was great lol. The quality of this product is top notch and the cutting bar cuts cleanly even though it doesn’t have teeth. I consider this a feature as I don’t need sharp edges around me hehe. This product also holds the huge rolls of 1000’ or more, another feature that fits my needs. I would recommend this product!

Works Great. Feels Sturdy. One Small Complaint.
Excellently built product. Feels like it could take a beating. I keep using it when I don’t need to just because it’s so satisfying to cut the paper. Comes with many spare screws in case you lose one. Also comes with drywall anchors & screws for mounting it to a wall, along with rubber feet should you wish to put it on a table.Only complaint is that when mounted horizontally on a wall, the loose end of the paper does not hang down for me to easily grab onto. It is guided towards the wall by the blade, which makes it harder to grab. Perhaps this is just a problem with the packing paper that I use.Other reviews mention that this used to come with a serrated blade that wasn’t very good. I can confirm that the version I received does not have a serrated blade. In fact, the blade itself isn’t sharpened at all — I can run my fingers along it without any worry of getting cut. Yet it still tears the paper with ease. Very effective yet safe. It leaves a straight, slightly torn edge. Not as cleanly cut as if you had used scissors. About as clean as if you had creased the paper and tore it along that crease. Works great.

YES!
This was exactly, perfectly, unbelievably, exactly what I was looking for. Yes, I know I wrote "exactly" twice. I'm old school, from the days when things were made to last and even hand down to future generations. This rolled paper dispenser is that level of both design and quality. It was simple to put together, too. I opted to use the rubber grip feet and can tell you that they really do keep the dispenser from moving, even with single-handed use. I pull paper from the roll, rip-cut it with a single move, and that's that. Absolutely pleased, so I absolutely recommend, and that's unusual for me.

Unit works ok but not ideal
I like the assembled unit vs assembly of others I’ve tried. While it does show wall mount it isn’t ideal for this as the cutter is located on the rear, not front, of the unit and there is no way to change that as rolls would fall out if reversed so that is a bummer as tearing the paper is tough when backwards. I wanted a wall mount versus table top to save space for my workshop. now that said it does work better than others I’ve tried with the larger diameter bulk rolls and the rear facing tearing wouldn’t be an issue if the serrated teeth were sharp but they are powder coated over and very dull so when trying to cut the paper it isn’t as simple and pulling to tear otherwise I get tears off line and all over the place so I have to be extra careful to full and then tear standing right over the unti and by going slow. I wish the teeth were sharp and this wouldn't be an issue like with other units I’ve tested.

I’m recommend it
My only regret is that I didn't buy this thing sooner. It's very convenient to use.
