Fantastic, Perfect for Underdrawing and Tones
This is a fantastic light blue lead (if you want to call it a lead, it goes on with a smooth waxy feel that indicates it's some sort of composite). The range of values you can get with pressure is awesome and the darkest of it has almost a glow to it. I find that it erases better than just about every other light blue pencil I own (which can be good or bad). I like to do tonal studies entirely in this blue. It's also ideal for comicbook bluelines. It is fragile, however, so expect breakage of you don't treat it delicately. The pack that it comes in is pretty plentiful and has lasted me quite a while with constant usage. The Turqouise leads for lead holders have their appeal but sometimes I want a constantly sharp, hastlefree tip and this is perfect. Great product- I'll probably get red soon. Pilot, if you see this, please make a black one out of this same wonderfully waxy blend!

Great for sketching
Lots of complaints about the lead breaking, but for me, I had minimal breakage unless I pressed hard with the pencil trying to get the darkest color. As long as I simply went over the area repeatedly to get my darkest dark, I had no breakage. The moment I wasn’t paying attention and inadvertently pressed harder, the lead would break. The color blue is a perfect drawing color and using a white Pentel eraser, the erasure was clean and easy. Very pleased with this purchase.

Great for Sketching!
These worked great for my needs. I work with wood and I draw a general outline in graphite but As I go I add details in this blue lead, It allows me to erase it easily as I like to carve and wood burn with it. This is harder and waxier so it does dent the wood for me and also breaks more frequently when I am just drawing.--- This helps me when I am sketching to better organize my thoughts. I can draw with this, and mess up as needed and once I lay down lines I am satisfied, I can go back with graphite.--- My friend also bought a pack of the pens of each color and I will say that this blue is one of the best for sketching (probably next to pink which may be slightly darker?) as it is very light but still visible. This blue also erases nicely.I highly recommend!

I like em a lot!
I read the reviews of these, I saw soft lead, kind of expensive, but also saw how much people liked them. I decided to try them for my pages and must say they are excellent! I have use regular pencil non photo blue in the past and found them lacking. These are perfect, they lay down well, very precise in my mechanical pencil, and easy to erase. As others said they are soft. I mean SOFT. I don't break leads, I wear them down as I lay out lines. I tend to be loose, but noddle a lot of lines on my layouts, and they burn this lead up. Not a deal breaker but be aware. Costly, soft but precise, and look great. I say try them since I love them already, but be aware of the drawbacks that come with such a soft lead.

Still a decent colored lead
I really like using this lead for my sketching and have used it for years. I had run out so I was glad when my order arrived although I noticed that the leads seem to be breaking pretty often. It would be nice if the lead was a little harder to prevent this but since there's very few options for non-photo blue lead I'll keep using it.

Excellent non-photo blue for field sketching and underlying drawings in watercolor and ink work.
This is excellent quality non-photo blue lead. I use it for sketching in the field in my nature journals. It's great for quickly capturing underlying forms of my subjects without worry over smudging or dirtying my journal pages. I can then work over the pencil with graphite, colored pencil, pen/ink or watercolor to produce more detailed sketches or drawings. I find it less distracting than graphite for this kind of sketching. It's just a little more work to remove than light graphite, but less prone to marring my watercolor or multimedia paper, since the lead is fairly soft. I also find it less noticeable under ink or watercolor in general, so I'm also exploring using it instead of graphite in the studio for my watercolor and/or ink illustrations. I'm very happy with this lead and will definitely buy it again.

Perfect
These are perfect , they are slightly softer than I like but the line work they leave is great , light , easy to see , easy to erase . Perfect for comic art and under drawing, Although I can not tell you how they show after scanning , I have not endured that part first hand yet .. they are great otherwise def worth the money , I actually stocked up on two packs lol .. hope this helps
