Hit that "add to cart" button NOW!
I've had these for a month now and have confirmed that they are the best on the market (by comparing them to every headphone I can find in stores on display!). Go ahead and hit that button now and get these out of the Amazon factory and to your doorstep NOW! I have spent the past three hours writing a review for this product and am nowhere near close to finished with it. So, by the time these arrive at your doorstep, I might be done. Now I know why Rick Dees says these are rated #1 in the world on his weekly countdown show. He's not lying and I am regretting all the time I have wasted on not having this product. If you love music, and all genres of it, you must have this headphone. I listen to CHR Top 40 and every song sounds fantastic with these. The bass is so unbelievably great. It's not Beats bass...it's PUURRRFECT bass. It's the kind of bass you feel, not in a head thumping, vibrating way, but an internal way. It's a rumble that's so pleasant and true, that all parts of the song burst right through it in an indescribable way. I can't find one single flaw with the sound. It's absolutely amazing. If you are hesitating, let me describe it this way...take your music source to the nearest store and listen to the Sennheiser Momentums, the Sony MDR-1Rs, the Monster Inspirations or the Harmon Kardon CLs. These headphones are close to the sound quality of the M100's. I say close. But the Momentums are higher in price and aren't up to the build quality and have many flaws. The sound is close, but not close enough to the M100's to recommend. The Sony's are the most comfortable headphone you are going to find inside that store, but the sound isn't felt like the M100's...it's as clear and the bass is close, but now close enough. I own a pair of the 1Rs and they are sitting next to my computer while the M100's sit on my head. The Harmon Kardon's are cheaper and have great sounding bass, but something else is suffering. I haven't quite put my finger on it, but something is missing. Factor in the dullness of the style (Squares) and the M100 has all the advantages. No Beats, Bose, or other headphone on display are in the same league. Beats have loud sound with thumping bass and the overall sound suffers...it's one dimensional sound and after a few songs, they get removed. Unfortunately, most people who buy these don't know it or just don't care...can't really fault them, Beats has the best headphone marketing strategy out there and Dre is making major bank because of it. Bose sound is crystal clear and dull. M100's are pure bliss. There are so many positive reviews that I could pull from here that sum up this product perfectly. The build quality is the best and it's a tough feat to make a portable headphone looks stylish and sound great at the same time. This is something Beats is trying, but failing miserably at right now. Bottom line...if you like the sounds of any of those products I just mentioned (Momentum, MDR-1Rs, Inspiration, CLs), hit that buy button now!!! FULL REVIEW COMING SOMETIME THIS WEEK...if I can ever finish it. Stay tuned. Okay...I'm back. Instead of posting a million more words about these headphones, let me just get right to the chase. Here's how I get the maximum sound out of these headphones. First, I must warn you...I don't enjoy listening to music on these headphones from any other source than my IPhone 4S. I have Ipods, but I will not use them anymore. Here's why...you need a program that offers an EQ that you can control. So, to keep this simple, for my IPhone, I have downloaded all of the most popular EQ apps. Oh, I forgot to mention...don't listen to anymore songs from the generic music player that comes loaded from Apple. I have put that puppy away. Now, after reviewing many EQ music apps, I am going to save you tons of time. Just download TUNESHELL. It's free. It's simply the best. Now, EQ to the following settings: 32: 4 64: 2 125: 0 250: -2 500: -3 1K: -1.5 2K: 1.75 4K: 4.4 8K: 5.4 16K: 4 These settings will get you in the ballpark for great sound. Of course, you can adjust based on your desires, but this is a great starting point. All songs of CD quality or MP3 320 are going to sound great with these settings. Now, about TUNESHELL...it's a free app that comes with an EQ and it looks similar to the stock music player, so there is very little learning curve, but it looks and sounds tons better. That is all you need to do to make these headphones sparkle. Enjoy these V-Moda M100's. You will not be disappointed.

Great Sounding Headphones! A bit large for daily portable use but amazing in every other respect.
Recently purchased a pair of V Moda M-80 for my son. I was soo impressed by them that I found myself wanting a pair for myself. Having been an in-ear buds user (Westone) and dealing with the broken cords/wires with each pair I purchased. I decided it was time to move to headphones. So naturally curiosity got the better of me, as I thought if the M-80 is amazing, what must the M-100 be like?! So after looking at the alternatives such as the Sennheiser Momentum and Polk Noise Canceling Headphones, Logitech U-6000, I kept coming back to the M100 for a few reasons. The sturdy removal cord, the 45 degree angle of the connector, the fold-ability of these, the construction quality, the good looks and the warranty, not to mention my own praise for the sound from the M-80. Got them, and must say, they are absolutely gorgeous and superbly made! Put them on and started with a few tracks that I enjoyed with my son's M-80 and immediately I could hear the difference between them. These M-100 are much more bassy and forward. Felt more like a live performance, if that makes sense. These felt like they play louder than the M-80 at the same volume, possibly due to the larger drivers. These cover the ears as opposed to the M80 that sit on top of the ear. So a little better isolation, that too may be a reason for feeling like these play louder. They feel warmer (temperature) to my ears than the M-80 but after a few minutes I got used it and felt fine. I like and appreciate good sound and good stuff, but I'm not one to get into all the decibels range conversation. Can say these truly deliver on many counts! I played them with bass reduction as some reviewers have mentioned they preferred but truthfully, I didn't find the bass to be overdone/exaggerated, just punchier than the M-80. So I went back to my original EQ settings and tried a number of different types of music. I thought they were game for everything I threw at them. The only music I found myself pulling back on was Nirvana tracks with the heavily distorted guitar. These provided too much detail in the distortion, not the fault of the headphones. My only minus, and this is coming from a middle-aged father, a cool dad, but a dad with a few greys none the less, is these are not small. When I looked at myself in the mirror with these on, I immediately thought "Won't be walking the streets with these". I think for airplane travel, long rail commutes, DJ, or dedicated listening these are hard to beat. I'm sure my son's generation and 18-25 years of age won't have an issue wearing these to high school, mall, etc. But for me, it would look like I was having a mid-life crisis. So I will be picking my situations where I will use these. Also the supplied case is nice but as one reviewer wrote, "a small soccer ball". So you'll need a backpack or carry bag to drop these into. These are a FIVE STAR Listen, FIVE START BUILD QUALITY, FIVE STAR WARRANTY and THREE STAR PORTABILITY for me. Will be interesting to see if my son want to trade his M80 for my M100. He loves his M80 and uses them all the time, takes them everywhere and they still look new! V Moda makes a REALLY nice product! Nice enough that I now have purchased two of their headphones in a short span of time. Another set of thumbs-Up!

Product arrived slightly earlier awesome, tested with various music, most musics are good except for a few so depending on what songs u r listening. Build quality I see is pretty good, i have twisted here and there, 2 different types of cables are supplied. Only thing Noise cancelation is not that strpng, I will say it just cancel around about 30 to 50% level where u still can hear quite abit. Hopefully by changing the earpads can reduce even more.

These are the most expensive pair of cans that I own. I was torn between the Momentums by Sennheiser and this but went with the V moda because they look more stylish to me and the foldable design. The construction of the headphone is extremely solid and it feels premium. The sound is nice but then I'm not authority on sound. For a detailed review of the sound read the review by Tyll on inner fidelity.

What can I say, you really get what you pay for. Naysayers will describe these as overpriced. What they don't say is that these headphones aren't only built to sound good, they're built to last. I dislike how most companies of today (I'm looking at you Apple) design products that aren't built to last for more than a few years, which is what "planned obsolescence" is (read up on it). Knowing that you've bought a product that was engineered to be awesome and usable for a long time makes me one happy camper. I listen to a LOT of Extreme Metal, Post-Rock, and Ambient Music. I also like a good amount of bass. I personally feel that the bass on the M-100 is clean and an ample. Listening to Bloodshot Dawn's "Demons" album, it's like ear candy. So you thought this was only good for electronic music? Not at all! On more peaceful music, like say Hammock (life changing music), the slight vibrations are reproduced to great detail. Of course, to listen to these headphones, make sure that you play high-resolution music. At the very least 192k MP3, I personally do not go lower than 320k CBR if it's compressed. These headphone are also very comfortable. I can easily spend several hours with them, and I have a big head! I purchased the white version as it was the one one sale, but turns out that it's quite fashionable as well. Purchasing the item, it comes in a package. The headphones, a case, and two kevlar-stitched wiring, one of which has a remote and microphone. Overall, this is a fantastic set sold in a fantastic package. V-Moda customer service is top notch too! Asked a few questions about the shields and they really answered as if they cared about your experience first and foremost (this is where Apple wins, and V-Moda are on par with them!).
