Turned check engine light off on a 1997 Geo Prizm
On a Geo Prizm with over 220k miles the check engine light was on for catalyst efficiency, code P0420. Replacing the catalytic converter with this one cleared the code so it could pass inspection. The description notes for this catalytic converter say front and rear gaskets are included, but the one I received did not have any. I do not know if they were missing from the Warehouse Deal I purchased, or if they are not included with any of them. On this car the front and rear use the same style donut gasket, not the flat flange type. The bolts had to be cut off since they were rusted tight and the heads were too small for 14 mm and too large for 13 mm. Even with a 13 mm socket hammered on for a very snug fit, the bolt didn't budge and the corners rounded off, so all bolts were cut for removal. The catalytic converter looked very similar to the one that was removed and fit perfectly. The removed catalytic converter did not look clogged or deformed in any way, but apparently was not doing its job since the engine light that was on for months cleared shortly after this catalytic converter was installed. This was well worth the money to get past inspection for another year.

Direct fit and dropped right in
It fit my 1986 4runner perfectly. The other catalytic converter was gone after 12 years of usage. It was a walker made also. They last and do the job.

Poor quality control, exhaust leaks
Disappointed with the quality control on this cat. Was slightly shorter than the stock cat on a 1985 Toyota pickup 22RE. Tightened bolts as far as they would go, new gaskets, but the flanges would not sit flush. I assumed that my exhaust pipes were warped but when I put the straight edge on the Walker cat flanges, it was obvious that the defects are with the new cat's flanges. Neither are straight, but one is much worse than the other. Even with the new thicker gaskets (which I had to go out and buy, none were provided), the warped flanges on the new cat caused exhaust leaks. I'm curious if all of these Walker cats' flanges look like this or if I just received a crappy one.
