Not for clinic use
Very disappointing. This board does not compare to the spin you get from a true astronaut board. It is heavy, slow, and not apealing to look at. It was not worth the savings. It was approved for return, but would cost $55 dollars to do so. If you are a therapist working on the astronaut program this is not the board for you.

Moves across room if not centered
Place something under this board it can scratch floor. Have the kid sit directly in the center or it "moves" slightly across the room. This is hard to center when lying on the side in the astronaut training. It does the job until we can hang a swivel swing.

Great for vestibular therapy
My son first tried one of these boards during occupational therapy. He could just spin and spin and spin all day long. When therapy was over after a few months, I decided it was time to buy one for home. This "astronaut board" is very well constructed! We usually put a small "beanbag chair" on top. My son lays on the beanbag and puts his feet up and asks me to spin him fast. We always notice during day after doing a spinning session, he is talking more and is more intentional about his choices. I believe it's great cognitive therapy also.
