This is the second set of these door protectors that I bought for my cars. They take less than a minute to put on your car. They have very strong magnets that are inside the Door Shox that wont scratch your car and a cable that goes inside your car between your front door and sticks to your window with a suction cup. They are very light but thick. I have noticed when I put these on my car nobody even parks near me anyways because they don't have a clue to what these are on the side of the car and I think that they think it is some kind of security device that will go off if touched. I have used a pair on my 3 year old Rav4 and do not have a dent or ding on in it yet and I just bought a pair for my new Impreza.These are well worth the money and peace of mind. The body side moldings that are installed at the dealers can also chip if hit with a car door and cost 300.00 so I would say this is a much better option.

I have just purchased my 2nd set of door shox, I'm not comfortable leaving home without these in my car. I park in locations that either eliminate exposure to the sides of my car, and where this is not possible I park with one side only exposed. I have invested in a car I love to drive, BMW X5, and whilst this offers some built in side protection through body moulds running boards, I have personally witnessed my door shox 'save' my doors on several occasions as careless drivers have parked along side of me. My main use is in my apartment car spaces, I use these religiously to protect my car, can not recommend this product highly enough for design, functional use and even aesthetic appearance. The updated model I have purchased offers a little more security, as I had one stolen from my vehicle whilst it was in use, I can only imagine by a car proud thief!

Actually,I love them and it's a great idea, but here's the problem. Glad they are black and somewhat unnoticeable BUT my concern is what people/thieves may do to your vehicle trying to steal them! Like a radio, do more damage getting in/removing it (damage to the vehicle) than the radio is worth!The anti-theft cable passes thru your door/frame. You close the door with the cable and a small ball inside the vehicle. Thus, if someone yanks on the units, trying to pull them off with the vehicle locked, they most likely will trash the paint on your door edges thinking it's an easy steal, then finding not, trashing your door edges.Guess we will see. I'm stuck parking in an employee garage where 99% of the users are from the Pre-cambrian (pre-dinosaur) period, unfortunately, so tugging and twisting are their common feeding techniques that they will apply to this novelty.Remember the Movie (2001 Space Odyssey) old-timers?SO....if U have INTELLIGENT BEINGS around you (NOT), they may ask where you got them, BUT more than likely... the aliens will cause monkey damage!

It works with other vehicles. J bought a tesla and tried figured out it won't stick to door.

After several trips to the dealer body shop, I browsed the internet looking for a solution. I love them! When I park anywhere I put them on and immediatly feel that my investment is protected from the lazy person who just kicks the door open no matter who or what is parked next to them.I respect those who respect themselves and their investment and this is one way to show that you do care, so others might try and show a little respect.I was parked in a friends driveway and I noticed when another friend pulled in and started to get out beside my car, he immediatly noticed when he opened his car door looking to watch out not to hit my door that there was something there to interfere with him damaging my car. It was really cool to see it in action!

Just got them today and put them on. They seem sturdy. The rubber that covers the magnets seems soft. I cleaned the paint before putting them on. Install was simple. Not sure why some people had trouble. Suction the cup inside a window, close the door, stick the guards on. As for scratching the paint, yeah anything touching the paint can scratch it if you aren't careful about removing them without sliding them on the paint. I'm not worried about that.

I looked everywhere for protection for my vehicle door. I only found 1 item that looked good and performed well. Door Shox!They are super easy to use and install.Sleek black body contours nicely with my black honda civic.One thing, I wish I could have my doors protected and drive at the same time.Not sure why it says not to drive with these on? Any feedback would be appreciated.The only thing is you cant protect entire vehicle plus be able to get inside your car. It has to be parked.Now I don't have to park 300 feet from the grocery store, now I can park anywhere, think of the possibilities!

Works as described however be warned the security cable is super thick left dents on the inside of my door, basically you need to shut the door with the scurity cable in between but it’s so darn thick it dented me 2017 camaro, customer service is garbage and tried to ignore my complaint. I still use them just not the security cable so they can get stolen at anytime, to fix those dents it’s over $1000, there should be warnings on this product and they should own up to their mistake not ignore complaints
