Metal, but maybe not as good as a good plastic.
Materials seem good, and strong. Not impressed at how the ball joint retainer can pop out. This gives lots of play that you just don't get with plastic. TBH after this I would consider staying with a heavy duty plastic, I'm sure the hobby has got all excited at metal everything, when sometimes plastic is fine. To get round the problem I shim them with washers, which for my model is fine, but it makes them a pivot, not a 3D connection.
