Wise 8WD156-784 Offshore Swingback Cooler Seat, 70-Quart, Brite White

My husband got this boat seat because the old one needed replaced. This fit perfectly where the last one was. It's even more comfortable than the last. My husband installed this one by himself and it did not take him a lot of time to do it. It's white so it matches the rest of the boat and makes it look clean. This is high quality and very functional!

I really like these benches. You can use the bottom as a cooler or live well. You can flip the back rest back and forth to sit facing front or to the rear. Well made, easy to assemble.Install tips: There are mounting plates screwed to the bottom of the cooler/bench. The manufacturer uses 1/4" x 1 inch cap head Phillips machine screws with a 3/4" washer all stainless steel.The mounting plate is 3/4' thick and the mounting holes will accommodate a 1/4" screw/bolt. (You could go a little bigger, but a 3/8" screw is too big and will not fit.)Attaching photos to the review showing the four holes in the bottom of the mounting plat on each side of the bench, the measurement of the screwhead and washer, and the side measurement of the mounting plate (3/4 inch thick).

Built solid. seats 2 comfortably. cooler is on the smaller side but great for a day trip and will work great for us. We didnt need to bolt it down its heavy enough to sit on our foam floor without needing it.

I recently bought a 1997 174 cobia center console boat that the original seat and stainless steel tube framing was damaged in a storm by a tree branch and wow, stainless steel framing options are very costly, not worth spending that much on this almost 30 year old boat, so found this WISE seat for a replacement. Ordering and shipping was as expected and on time. Have not installed in boat yet. Easy to assemble. Price was fair for what it is in this day of age compared to other options, seats, pedestals, and leaning posts for center counsol boats. The structure Quality seems good for what it is. The seat and back rest vinyl came in a bright white finish color which is what I was hopeing for, BUT the seat cushion has allready faded to a yellow off white, the backrest is still shiny and bright white, hasn’t even been outside yet And now looks ugly and dirty, I’ve had it about 3 weeks inside my clean dry garage. Not in the elements or even the sun yet. I will be contacting the company for a replacement seat and hope it’s a flaw in the vinyl manufacturing process and maybe it’s just a bad batch of dyes or chemicals not quite right in that batch of vinyl so Hopefully not all the seats will yellow and fade so fast. Over a long period out in the elements might be understandable but within a couple weeks not even outside is a major disappointment. Hope a replacement seat won’t just do the same thing. The function of the swing back seat for my 17’ cobia center console seems it should be very practical with the storage undernieth and a decent drain hole centered in the bottom should work out very nice. Not quite 5 star because of the poor vinyl quality fading and yellowing so fast. I do hope the company will send a replacement.

Wish it had a strap to keep the seat from opening as I drive

It took forever for me to get it. Packaging horrible. Zero protective packaging other than two plastic bags. Would have been thoughtful to add handhold cut outs to such a big heavy box, nor would it have cost them anything to print a cut out template to mount it, nor to include helpful hints/instructions. Now the worst- the base plate should be one inch overall wider so you can get a driver of some type on the fasteners. After trying everything imaginable to screw it down I had two trips to the hardware store buying various other fastener options, removing the couple of fasteners I was able to get in on the first attempt, and then to reattach and seal them with hex head screws I could get a wrench on. A very painful install accordingly. Then I find the odd ball rubber stopper drain plug doesn't fit at all so I may end up whittling down a stick to plug up my new $600 cooler that should have cost way less and which could have been a fun install in a couple hours.

Great value. Bought for my 2017 Mako PS17. Drilled 4 holes in base to lune up with existing hold downs, perfect fit!
