My must have for years
I cannot live without this makeup! I have used this product for around 6-8 years now. It is very easy to build coverage and it has a very natural appearance when applied. This shade works very well for my fair skin with a yellow undertone. I believe soft ivory is the lightest shade they have. I use this product atleast 4 times a week and it lasts me for 1-3 months. My skin is combination/oily and with this it still looks good at the end of the day. If you have dry skin you may want to make sure to exfoliate and moisturize often because as with any powder product it could accentuate your dry skin. Even though I own an easy to use professional air brush system, I chose to use this as my everyday makeup. Most of the time (around 95%) this foundation is enough to cover all of my blemishes without concealer including acne, veins, redness, and undereye circles. If something needs a little extra coverage I am able to use a concealer brush or my finger to apply this powder directly to the blemish. I do have naturally veiny eyelids and get occasional hormonal acne and this product works very well at concealing those issues for me. I've never experienced any troubles with break outs or clogged pores when using this while having acne. As far as the brush I do not typically use it. It is a decent brush for a disposable makeup system, and it applies the makeup well. I often use a kabuki brush because it gives a lighter coverage, for medium to full coverage their brush works well. To disperse the powder onto my brush I do not use the makeup well, it is concentrated into a small area and I like to control the amount of coverage. I always tap some powder out onto the side of a large flat empty leather makeup bag and then disperse the amount I desire onto my brush. Doing this usually leaves extra ready to go for the next time I wish to apply any. It's a similar technique to using a painter's palette. It takes me less than a minute to apply this makeup from start to finish for flawless skin no matter the amount of blemishes I have. Out of all the designer and drugstore makeup I've used this is my absolute favorite foundation. It is easy, it looks natural, and gets the job done well all while being mineral based and healthy for your skin.

I love this stuff
I love this stuff and actually really like the packaging. You can get different amounts of coverage depending on the amount of powder used and the way you apply it. If you use the regular brush and a circular motion with a small amount, you get good coverage and despite it being a powder, it looks natural. If you use a small brush (I like a small, angled brush, but I find those hard to find, and a rounded brush seems to do the trick), dip it into the powder, and then tap it on a blemish, it works like a concealer and hides the blemish well. I'm not sure why some people don't like the packaging. I take the clear lid off and place it on the counter upside down, like a bowl. Shake the container, turn it upside down, and then back right side up. Unscrew the lid with the attached brush. Tap the screw-brush-lid onto the container a few times to jar loose any powder stuck to the "bottom" of it. Then tap the brush into the powder, tap off excess, and apply in a circular motion to your face. I skip the forehead and crowsfeet, as powders tend to settle into the lines on me. :) Next, I put the brush into the upside-down bowl lid, so it can rest on the counter without dirtying the brush, and then I tap my concealer brush into the powder and tap it onto blemishes and dark spots. You don't need a lot of powder, so I don't think I'd want to remove the salt-shaker-y part and dip a brush right into the powder... the current design keeps you from getting too much makeup on your brush and overdoing it. Anyway, this powder is way quicker to apply than liquid foundations, and I was once complimented on my "flawless" skin after spending some time covering up two or three pimples that evening. :) My only complaint might be if the brush gets dirty and you wash it in soap and water, it doesn't feel as soft as it does before you wash it, nor as soft as the brush on their overall glow type product (which I think was discontinued, and I hope they bring it back. It has a slightly different consistency, so that brush may not work with this awesome powder anyway).

Great Coverage - A bit messy (like all powders) - Worth it!!
I have used this product for several years and the coverage is amazing and very buildable from a soft light dusting to cover oily hot spots on my face to a full on photo finish look. As an older 50+ woman, I have always heard to stay away from powders, but I still find it still works well with my skin. When first applied, it will look as if it is settling a little bit into the wrinkles of older or dry skin, but somehow, it doesn't stay that way after a couple minutes. Possibly because it finally sinks in and blends with your moisturizer or skin oils since it is mineral powder - no idea? But I love it! I have pigmentation issues and white skin patches from past acne scars and this product blends it all in with the rest of my skin.As with all powder foundation makeup, you will find it a bit messy. You will need to clean up more often, but I haven't found it to be that big of a deal. I use it over my bathroom sink or a tissue to keep it off my vanity countertops. The packaging is okay. I think Loreal did the best they could in trying to create a portable, inexpensive mineral powder that includes a brush. Personally, I use my own kabuki brush that is softer (and costs more) when I'm at home. But I have used their attached brush when on the go. Yes, it is a little scratchy, but not horrible or unusable.Overall, The pros out way the cons. And for the money - this is a high quality product with great coverage, works with my skin and not just on top of it, lasts long and worthy of a five star rating in comparison to other similarly priced foundation products.
