WOW! When I was asked to review this book I knew a very limited amount about Maybelline and cosmetics. However, now I know a whole lot more!! LOL!The basis of this true story was in the late 1960s and early 70's. Just knowing that's when some of this story took place isn't that surprising. I mean, let's face it. Between the flower children and the hippie culture, this was a very unique time in our history.Reading this book was like watching a late night serial show! The lives of the Maybelline Queen and her prince included sex, drugs, unsolved murder, mafia connections, celebrities and makeup.You will also learn how BIOFREEZE, DMK, Foundations, DMK skin revisions and DEEP FREEZE came to be.If you are looking for a biography on Evelyn Williams and Danne Montaque King, then this is the perfect book for you. If you are looking for a steamy biography then this is for you. If you are interested in learning more about Maybelline then this is the book you need to read!I received a complimentary copy of this book for review purposes.

I never give a 2, and I give hundreds of ratings. I read this on the heels of another book about Maybelline, and when they say there are three sides, his, hers and the truth in between, this, I suspect is true between these two books. I'm a voracious reader and can get through that and take it for what it is. The problem with this is to hear the author tell it, he's invented nearly everything, but somehow didn't quite get credit for it, was the brains behind Evelyn Williams (honestly, not sure I like her in either book, but here, I think Danne benefited a great deal from her wealth). I was interested to read about Biofreeze, because I'm always interested in how products came to fruition. Honestly, the bragging in this book is what makes it difficult to get through.

I've read dozen's of memoirs in my search for great characters. Danne King is as grand as they come. I enjoyed his honest and detailed descriptions of the cultures he encountered and was inspired by his perseverance. If you've ever tried to start a business on your own, or attempt anything great this will give you a blueprint for the mindset you'll need to achieve it.

You don't have to be in the skincare industry to love this book! It had me captivated from the beginning to end. Mr. Montague-King has had one hell of a run, and has lived a life many of us could only hope for! Loved this book. I wouldn't doubt if there will someday be a "Part 2".

Not what I really enjoyed. I am not interest in Hollywood and political books . It deems to be about self absorb people.

By all standards, this is a piece of history, one that in beginning days, tells a defining story about an iconic company stemming from the 1920's and now, its central character, a modern day skin expert and guru with his own skin care and scar revision company with affiliations the world over. In rich storytelling style, this respected "legend" tells his unique story from his own perspective of a life not only well-lived and to the fullest, but lived authentically, and FEARLESSLY. It's no wonder his life is now the subject of a 2023 movie release, "Maybelline Prince".

Once I started reading this ebook I could not put it down. Well written, interesting & witty. Would recommend it.
