I bought a Range Rover with only 90k miles for 800$ but they couldnt get it started. It turns out the BMW immobilizer on that model will allow crank but it prevents spark AND fuel from working. The dealer wanted 1200$ to reflash and I called a "mobile locksmith" who wanted to tow it to his shop and charge 1000$ to fix it. I used a guide from a BMW tuners forum and with this cable I was able to locate the code using a Hex editor and 00 it out, essentially deleting the immobilization process. It started right up after the reflash. So for a 30$ cable I was able to do it myself lol.

This cable is amazing; it's great quality and works with both my e46 and e38 (though I needed an additional 20 pin adapter for under the hood in the case of the e38). The button that jumps pins seems solid enough, and after getting the software setup, I was successfully able to fully program both vehicles! Amazing. I am subtracting 1 star because the software/drivers they send with it didn't work (might as well just leave them out). I had to find other software and drivers by googling online.

Will not work with Windows 10, but it does say it works with Windows NT, sorry boys, nobody runs NT. If you search and follow some of the BMW forums you might find a backdoor method to get the driver loaded for Windows 10 but have to do some IT magic to turn off a bunch of stuff as your computer is booting up in order for it to work.....useless.

Was compatible with both cars, and using a software I got online (not the disk) I was able to remove an airbag light that came from me disconnecting an airbag during a repair. Worked great!

This is the typical K+DCAN cable used for BMWs old and new. But this one has a much improved built-in switch, which either connects or disconnects pins 7 and 8. The slider style switch is weak and could break, and is a 4-position switch when only 2 positions are needed. The switch on this cable is a pushbutton, much stronger, and is the correct 2 positions. I’ve used this cable on older BMWS: E39, E46, E53, as well as newer BMWs: E60, E92, E84. Download the latest drivers from ftdichip dot com.

I kept on having issues with E90s with this cable. I had bought one with a switch because I know E90s require pins 7 and 8 to be disconnected. Turns out the switch never worked. Measured continuity and 7 and 8 always had it.

I used this to remove transport mode on my R56 Mini Cooper. The cable worked great. The software was a challenge. The included software did not cover what I needed for my car, but once I tracked down a copy of ISTA-D and worked out all the communication port issues, this cable worked great. How-to videos saved my on this one. Forums were a bust.

E85Z4でアンドロイドアプリのXhpとプロツールの接続のため購入しました。 ボタンのオンオフどちらが7-8短絡かがわかりにくいですが、ボタン押さない状態で無事接続認識して使うことができました。

Worked great for flashing a Tune on a E92 M3. Didn't have to install drivers on a windows 10 laptop. I just set the COM port to 1 and set the communication to 1ms in the device manager. I always let the button on "depressed" No other steps required. Also works great with INPA.
