Century Electric UST1152 1 1/2-Horsepower Up-Rated Round Flange Replacement Motor (Formerly A.O. Smith)

It broke down today. I checked my past orders on amazon and saw that i bought this for 150 in early march of 2016. So it worked well for 7.5 years. When i took it out, i saw the bottom had significant rust. So if you install your's properly, you'll probably get much longer use than i did. i give it 5 stars as a reliable replacement of the original hayward motor we had. I will check my options but might get the same motor again.

The media could not be loaded. Exact fit. Only thing is to check the voltage setting from the factory. My motor came with an orange warning label stating it was setup for 230v. It was not. It was setup for 115v. Not a big deal as you just have to move a plug over one slot. Just a heads up to double check before starting.

Made a big mistake buying this pump. I thought was buying quality "A.O. Smith" Century pool pump but should've known better, it's Chinese junk. Pump worked okay (not great) for a little over a year then started making an electrical buzzing noise which got louder over time until the pump failed. Contacted the seller but of course was told "warranty has expired".

The pump installed easily, and, works quietly. I didn't realize how much of a difference the new pump makes filtering the pool. I do want to mention the packing of the pump was not great. To take a heavy unit like the pump, and, put it in a flimsy box with minimal packing material was a mistake. A mistake that probably got the unit put aside in the shippers site. I was informed the unit was lost and that I should apply for a refund after a couple of days. Luckily, the unit showed up on the day I was going to ask for a refund. Although packed poorly, the unit was not damaged, and, I was able to use it.

This is well worth the price. I recommend this motor if you have a pool pump that needs to be replaced. My local pool supply place wanted the twice the amount that this cost me. I would recommend that only someone with experience or a professional to change this motor. You are dealing with Electricity and Plumbing and a wrong installation can burn up the motor.
