One ball for 5 gallon tanks--and water cleared up within 8 hours!
The media could not be loaded. 48 hours ago, the LEFT 5GAL Aqueon MiniBow (w/ Smartclean Technology) just wouldn't clear up. The API water softener pillows worked to some extent but there was still a faint "haze" in the top left back of the left tank. My right-side tank did ok. However, when I placed the API water softener pillow in after a 10% water change, I decided to add one of these beneficial bacteria clear balls--and promptly lost sight of them! Can't find them! lol But they're in there.At any rate, see for yourself how well *both* tanks look after adding just one Aqueon PURE live bacteria. All water parameters are perfect and, although having 5 Neon Tetras in each tank doesn't cause a lot of bio-waste, I'm happy as can be and will add another Aqueon PURE live bacterial ball next week Wednesday because my Cardinal Tetras are due to arrive and a week after that, my Plakat Bettas will arrive, as well.

Improves tank health
This works great for managing PH levels and seems to help with algae growth as well. Since we started putting this in our tank we haven’t had any issues with the fish.

Seems to do the job mostly
The product seems to do what it's supposed to for a new aquarium. The only thing I noticed is that sometimes the balls don't dissolve so you may notice later on this little cloudy looking ball somewhere at the bottom of your tank. Either try to pop it so the bacteria releases or just remove it.

Easy to use
You know API Stress Zyme but you have to get containers out and measure, but with this so easy just open and drop dose in.

Just pop one in your tank and it cleans it right up. Works wonders everyday for my tank

Choking hazard
Used these for 8 months with no issues, then a goldfish got one stuck in it's mouth, couldn't get out with tweezers, had to suction it out. Close call!!!

Clear tank, yay!
Wish I had these many years ago as they are an easy fix. I just drop one in every Mondayand let it do its thing.
