Amazing for zoster/shingles!
Currently in my 6th week of shingles. About 4 weeks ago all the vescicles healed and light touch was super painful but steady mild pressure didn't hurt. I initially tried a 2 inch strap and it hurt worse because it was bunched up like a rope. Last week I found an old Dale model 410 30 to 45 inch binder from prior abdominal surgery. It worked but after 8 hours at work I had muscle aches not from shingles but from the binder bring too tight. So I ordered this one which is the next size up and it works amazing. I just find the fit where it's just loose enough that I feel shingles pain and then adjust it tighter by half an inch and its perfect. Wish I had it 4 weeks ago. Would have fixed a lot of sleepless nights and super painful days at work.

Compression after DIEP reconstruction
Fits perfectly as described. Love this binder. I am 5’10” with a long torso and really liked the height of this binder-I also order one that was12” high but ultimately wore this binder more frequently. The fabric has held up well after about 4 weeks of wear. The binder has not rolled and fits well under clothing without pulling or sticking to clothing.

Very satisfied with this item
I was sent home with two of these (same brand) by the hospital following abdominal surgery. I These are fairly comfortable and provide necessary support while recovering from such surgeries. I decided to order another of this same brand so I could wash them and always have a clean one handy. It washes well (I put mine in a laundry bag to prevent the Velcro like fabric from sticking to my towels) and I just drape it over the shower rod to dry. I don't remember the directions on the box anymore but don't think it should be dried in the dryer. Maybe on a light dryer setting? It is slightly visible under light or solid colored clothing or lightweight knit tops but with a print fabric top, you can get by fairly nicely without it being visible.. Mine has not chafed and it flexes with movement and is even comfortable to sleep in. Of course, how tightly it is wrapped is your own choice.

Not for larger sizes
Although this worked very well for me, the sizes that it fits may be quite exaggerated. I wear a size 16-to-18, and this larger size barely fit at all after my surgery. Although I know I had some swelling, and you want the band to be firm, this would not work for anyone who is larger. The band is very supportive when I am standing or walking, but very uncomfortable when I am sitting. The material is soft enough that it does not press painfully on the five incisions from my surgery.

Post Baby Shape
The binder was helpful to get my shape back after recently having a baby. I felt more comfortable wearing it directly on my skin to help in my recovery after a c-section birth. The fabric was soft and pliable against my skin. As I am returning to my normal size I can adjust the binder easily to my waist size. You can adjust it to be as tight or lose as you want. I would recommend this binder.

Disappointed
I needed a second binder post surgery because the one issued by the hospital stretched out. I like that it can be closed at any point on the binder, not just a certain section like on the one I received from the hospital. I also like the strip it has for a drain/tube which I haven't seen on other binders. The first time I wore it, it was perfect. Now, however, I've had a problem with this binder sliding down my waist or up my hips and it bunching around the surgical sight. It's not stiff enough to keep its shape which is really disappointing. this was supposed to be my main binder, but now I'm searching for another one because this one just isn't cutting it.

Great quality
This is a great binder if you recently had any abdominal surgery. The one I received from the hospital lasted one week and they told me the cost was around $100. This binder was much better quality than the one given to me by the hospital and it lasted for weeks!!!! I recommend this product to anyone undergoing abdominal surgery.

Love it. It works way better than a spanx ...
It's the same as what the doctor sent me home with but they charged $$$$ and this was way cheaper! Love it. It works way better than a spanx or tummy control underwear. It's adjustable and way easier to put on. I bought this so that I could wash the other one. I don't have a problem with the velcro seam showing under clothing as long as I velcro it on the side of my body instead of the front.
