Great product
I give this to 2 male indoor cats; 1 has urinary issues (crystals), the other does not. D-mannose works in cats just like it does in people; it's a "locked" sugar molecule that binds with bacteria & is not absorbed by the body, so the bacteria exits with it. It helped tremendously when crystals caused a blockage in our 6 year old cat, (1 scoop 3x/day for 5 days), & we have continued to give it to BOTH cats as a preventive measure, 1 scoop daily for the 12 pound cat, 1/2 scoop for the smaller (8 month old) 6 pounder. BTW - this must taste great - I just sprinkle it on some wet/canned food, mash it in a little with a spoon (it disappears) & they gobble it up. The 6 year old is super finicky (normally won't eat anything he's unsure of until he sniffs it/checks it our for like 5 minutes) & he just loves it....from day 1 ~ no hesitation. Also - our vet says this is a good thing for cats w/urinary issues.

Hasn't had any symptoms for 7 months now. Really good preventative!
On New Year's Day, my family had the scare of our lives because my male cat almost died due to a mucus plug. Previously, he's had at least one UTI or urinary crystals/stones situation a year since he came to us as a kitten. If you have male cats, it should be known more how easily this occurs. At some point, you become better at noticing the signs, but the last occurrence really almost took him from us. The funny thing was he was already on a prescription diet, and we were told from our vet that mucus plugs can be random, especially since we were already doing everything we could to prevent further UTIs/crystals/stones.After coming home, I looked further into anything that could help, and found out about D-Mannose. This product truly has been a lifesaver. I started him on it by pouring a full scoop 3 times a day with every meal, and he has had zero opposition to it. There was a point after the first couple of weeks that I lowered the dosage to 1 scoop a day, but he only started showing symptoms again, which was resolved after bringing the dosage back up to 3 scoops a day. It has officially been 7 months now, and he has had no further symptoms and continues to be a happy boy. This vitamin truly is a lifesaver for him and a very good preventive product if your cats often suffer the same issues. It mixes very well with his wet food and can mix well with dry if that is what you have (Kinda toss around with the dry food until coated like a seasoning.) I cannot recommend this product enough and look forward to more happy and healthy days with my boy.

Helped my cat
My cat was urinating outside of the litter box. He's a neutered male, so I figured it was either stress or a uti/blockage. Before taking him to the vet I gave this a shot and I'm glad it did because it worked amazing. He LOVED it. Like psycho cat loved it. It's been months and he hasnt gone outside of the litter box again.

Cats love it
My cats love this and will try to eat it out of the jar.I got this because I have 9 cats - one is a male that has a history of a bladder blockage, one has a heart condition that causes fluid build up internally, and three get feline idiopathic cystitis whenever they're stressed (usually by each other) and end up with blood in their urine. (The remaining 4 cats don't have any known bladder or fluid issues, but I doubt this would do them any harm and probably helps their kidneys function better.) Demannose was recommended by the vet to deal with all the urinary issues, and this powder is an easy way to give it to them by simply mixing it into their food. (We can even coat their Uretic kibble with it as well as mix it into wet food.)This powder helps with all these issues. The easiest to monitor is the blood in the urine. Whenever I notice they have blood in their urine, I start giving them this. Within 2-3 days, the cats are noticably less distressed, and they generally stop spraying/inappropriately peeing and there's no longer blood in their urine. So, I think this is a great option for chronic issues that don't require antibiotics.

Great for Maintenance
The only reason I'm giving a 4 star rating is because I feel this is more of a maintenance product than using this to actually heal & clear up the UTI. I still had to take our dog to the vet for antibiotics, but have 2 of our female dogs on this product and it seems to be working well. Both our girls tend to get UTI's in the spring & fall. Hoping this keeps us out of the vets office this fall! Yes, I will buy again for sure!

Definitely worth the buy
My cat has frequent UTIs now. I took this to the bed and showed what I have purchased on Amazon and he recommended that this would be good to supplement in her meals daily. And that's what I've been doing. And we haven't been back to the vet now for 2 months. Definite win win!

Didn't work at all
I bought this because I read that it works really well to prevent and clear up UTIs. I tried it for my dog and it did nothing. Also, even though it's a natural sugar, I can't imagine it's great for dogs' health (though, to be in fair, in such low recommended doses, I can't imagine it's that harmful).
