Pillows are a very subjective purchase but this one worked for me
Overall great pillow and priced fairly based on competitors. Pros: 1. Works for back and side sleepers. I was worried that it was only meant for side sleepers but this works for back sleepers too. Now I have the option to switch it up as certain pillows only work for one or the other sleeping style (e.g., purple original pillow is only for back sleepers). 2. Three height options. Everyone has different height needs to position their neck and head correctly. With 3 height options, most people should be able to find what works for them or close enough. 3. Supportive foam. It would be considered on the firm side but it proves great support without feeling hard (at least in my opinion). 4. Price is fairly competitive. Of course there are cheaper options but compared to the bigger names, this is respectively priced. It is still on the high side but how much is your sleep worth to you? 5. Shape is contoured to your head and shoulders. It is a good balance that gives you the needed support but doesn't get in the way either. 6. Doesn't compress down significantly. Not sure what Tempur-Pedic is thinking but all their new models seem to compress from 6.5 inches to less than 2 inches after a few minutes with your head on it. Not much support but their cooling gel seems to work though. Cons: 1. Size is smaller. It is still larger than the Tempurpedic one that is 20 inches in width. I wished they had an option for at least queen size though. 2. Slightly higher little sliver of foam at the neck. I don't think this little sliver provides any real support and sometimes feel weird when you move/adjust and feel it. Not really an issue when you're sleeping though. 3. Price. I know this was on the pros but still is on the expensive side and for a relatively small sized pillow.

Best Pillow I've had in years!
This pillow is the most comfortable pillow I've had in more years than I care to remember. In the past year I've spent over $300 on pillows, trying to find one that worked. I was really discouraged, because most "memory foam" pillows are way too hard; most cervical pillows (lately) are too tall, and I was beginning to feel like the little bear in the 3 bears story. I couldn't find one that was "just right," that is, until I bought this pillow. I loved this pillow from the first moment I put my head down on it. I hate to get up in the morning, only because it feels so good. On the other hand, I love to get up in the morning, because for the first time in at least five years, I wake up refreshed and with no pain in my neck. As I have degenerative disc disease in my neck that is a miracle. I highly recommend this pillow. In fact, I love it so much, I am going to order a spare, just in case something happens to this one! I reviewed this over four months ago - and had to come back and say that I love my pillow so much, I bought a second one to have "just in case." Of all the cervical/neck pillows I've ever had, this is my all-time favorite.

Been looking for this for years!
I’m in my mid-70s and have always been a side sleeper. Many, many years ago I purchased a pillow for side sleepers from the now defunct Herrington’s catalog. It was perfect. There was an indentation for my shoulder and a recess on the top so that my ear wasn’t crushed. Over the years it started to deteriorate, not helped by my wife’s attempt to remove the cover so she could wash it. The foam inside has begun to crumble. I put it back as best I could but was always on the look out for a replacement. I’ve tried many. Some I’ve just kept and others I’ve returned. All had one problem or another. No place for the shoulder, too firm and crushed my ear, etc. When I saw this pillow online, it looked just like my old pillow! So I ordered immediately. It is and it’s great! It supports your head so that you are not bending it down into the pillow and provides relief for your ears. If you are new to it, the ridge under your neck may seem stiff at first, but it’s needed to support the recess behind it. Give it a few days and it will soften up a bit and you’ll love it. Highly recommended!

Helps with neck pain, but persistent odor bothers me
I bought the side sleeper pillow because of neck and shoulder pain and constant headaches. Well, after two nights the sore neck is gone. However, I have not been able to get rid of the persistent memory foam odor from the pillow. I put it out in the garage for about five days and nights, sprinkled and rubbed baking powder, sprayed "Febreze," sprayed rubbing alcohol, ran it in the dryer with the air setting, used a heat gun to make it hot, and sat on it for hours on end. The odor goes away for about an hour or so, then returns. I still use it because it ended the sore neck muscles and hope it will end my waking up with moderately severe headaches, Every morning, I take it out of it's pillow cover, place the cover and the two pillow cases in the dryer with dryer strips to remove the odor from the material. I then place the pillow in the sun and later sit on it to force the air that is trapped in the foam. I going to get a polyester pillow case for it and then place the cotton pillow case over it.

This pillow worked beautifully even the first night for my TMJ. Head nestled in and seemed to keep jaw soft. Had a great sleep.
