Great Historical Summary
Definitely a good read from some real expert opinions. Enjoyed the Basketball rankings by position throughout history as well as the player photographs. Although the book was published in 2014, 6 years old, it should be updated at least every 7-10 years.

Impossible better
I Was looking for a birthday present for my 12 year old Basketball fan. He sees the world through everything connected to games and players, their públic and prívate lives, their success and failures. Imagine y delight when I heard his enthusiasm, his exciting on the phone. He was almost shouting his delight.I must say I agree with him though I am no Basketball fan. The book is beautifull, photos are creative and attractive, it's a pleasure to go trhrough it's pages. It sleeps on his bedside table.

Awesome photos, good articles. If you have a coffee table, this should be on it.
For basketball nerds like myself, you won't find anything new here. You probably already know about every player, team, and moment mentioned in this book. But for casual NBA fans, kids who like to read, or older fans who like to reminisce, this makes a great present. For those curious, I will list and summarize the 16 articles included, as written in the table of contents:"Simple and to the Point", 1999. John Stockton played the game the same way he lived his life."Air to the Throne", 1991. Michael Jordan drew rare accolades after he had won just one title."The King Earns a Ring", 2012. LeBron James quieted the naysayers the only way he could."A Kid Shall Lead Them", 1999. Kevin Garnett's career was launched in one intently watched workout."The Stuff of Dreams", 1995. A playoff performance showcased Hakeem Olajuwon's brilliance."The Republic of Pop", 2013. Gregg Popovich has built a culture of success in San Antonio."Pining for Playing Time", 1997. Toni Kukoc, like many sixth men, would rather have started."Tougher Than You Think", 1997. Steve Kerr showed rare resiliency in becoming an all-time great."Stop Jivin' Me, Coach", 1979. Moses Malone's pronouncement began a new era in basketball."A Can't Miss Proposition", 1994. Reggie Miller relived a great fourth quarter in Madison Square Garden."Whatever You Try Will Fail", 2003. Tim Duncan has known how to use his stoicism as a weapon."Did He Just Say That?", 2002. Charles Barkley has led the most enjoyable studio show in sports."Anatomy of a Miracle", 2013. The seconds were magnified before Ray Allen's big three pointer."The Spirit Was Willis", 1970. Willis Reed set the tone for Game 7 simply by taking the court."Green, Plus a Touch of Red", 1986. Larry Bird's Celtics dominated, with help from Bill Walton."Cuckoo for His Team", 1986. Dedicated fan Jack Nicholson has led the star parade at Lakers games.

Perfect!
I bought this for my three year old son who is obsessed with basketball. We flip through this book every day. The pictures are amazing. The book is packed with information, too. I'm not even a sports fan, and I love the book. It's really well put together and enjoyable for any age and level of sports enthusiasm.

just what he wanted...
I got this for my husband for christmas-he's a big basketball fan and he's interested in becoming a coach someday. He's gone through the entire book already and he can't wait till he has some downtime to really look over it again and make some notes. He says there are a ton of helpful plays and tips that an up-and-coming coach could use, plus it was just "cool" to see a lot of the old equipment used for the sport in the past, and to learn more about a lot of the greats. He loves it.

Basketball for all!
This is a very interesting book for everyone, even those that don't know anything about the sport. The photographs make you want to see each page and the narrative is detailed but brief enough to flick between the pages. This was for my 10 year old, basketball playing son, and it is proving a very good buy.
