General Tools 1265 Snap Fastener Kit with 6 Fasteners

I just used this kit to add 4 snaps to the gussets of my $1500+ Langlitz motorcycle jacket. I never liked the way that the gussets just hung out so I added snaps. This kit had almost everything I needed besides a hole punch for the leather. I used the #4 setting on the leather punch and took a deep breath and punched a hole in a jacket I had waited nearly 6 months to get. The snaps were the easy part. Putting them together ahead of time made things go faster and prevented mistakes as the parts are slightly confusing. I put 4 snaps on my jacket in under a 1/2 hour and I have near zero leather working experience at all. Some tips. Hammer a little at a time. I was concerned that the snaps would come off the thick cowhide of my jacket so the first snap I put on I hammered the heck out of it and punched the tabs right through the snap. Hold everything in place and hammer a little and then check. You will need something solid under the anvil. I used a dumbell that was easy to get inside my jacket for the hammering process. The snaps themselves are very strong and don't come unsnapped without a good bit of effort. This is what I wanted. On a side note the snaps match nearly perfectly the existing snaps on my jacket. I opted for the silver snaps rather than the standard brass ones to match the chrome on my Harley. These snaps work well for thick leather. I ordered the thick cowhide option for my jacket and the advisor on the phone said "you will never break this jacket in". He was right for the most part but these snaps had absolutely no problem getting through the really thick leather.

I use these on our Carhartt dog coats because the velcro they use doesnt last. These worked fine. Installation is easy once I've poked a hole in the material, which was the hardest part.

Only needed a few snaps to repair a robe so this package was just right. Installation was tedious, had to be on a hard surface and somehow manage to get the components in place held securely then be able to hit the installation tool precisely while holding everything steady!! Managed to get the job done but only after destroying a few of the snaps. If there is a next time, I will get the package with the tool that looks like a pair of pliers.

The product seems to work okay, but its difficult to properly hammer together. Net time I will spend the extra on the vice grip like tool for installing these. It does, however, do the job.

I am very pleased with this product. For the $7 or $8 that I paid for this snap replacement kit, I was able to save an $80 pair of insulated cargo pants. The most difficult part of the job was removing the old snap from the pants. You will need a drill and some bits, also a block of wood to serve as a work surface. A small hammer, some pliers too. I actually like the replacement snap better than the snap that came with the pants. I still have 5 snaps remaining in the kit for future use. This product is 100% worth it and an excellent value.

The buttons are one size and come with enough to make a few mistakes if youre looking for just a pair of buttons like i was (to keep the collar on my motorcycle jacket from flapping while riding). I smashed one of the pieces by putting it in the wrong order durong assembly. Please follow directions carefully. All in all it was easy to assemble and took merely a few minutes. Snaps are good and solid and i trust them for normal, daily use, even on other applications where the snaps would be used more than i use on my application. Good for crafts and clothing alike

Le kit contient tout le nécessaire pour fixer les boutons pressions : "l'enclume" et le tube qui permettra de donner forme aux boutons sont inclus dans la boîte. Le tout est fait en acier inoxydable de bonne qualité. Les pressions tiennent bien en place. Seul bémol, le tube ne résiste pas bien à la frappe au marteau, même si on ne tape pas trop fort. Il tiendra le temps de fixer les pressions de la boîte, mais il est peu probable qu'il servira encore après. Un très bon produit dans tous les cas. Le bouton une fois fixé est plutôt élégant, on peut donc utiliser ces pressions pour n'importe quoi. Je m'en suis servi pour pouvoir fermer une couverture afin qu'elle serve de sac de couchage, mais elle pourra servir pour un pantalon, un blouson, un sac... elles sont plutôt grandes et solides de toute façon.

The product worked well to repair broken snaps and they appear to be holding up very well. A bit tricky to install as you need a hard metal surface and hammer to fold down the snaps well. With a bit of practice, they were easy to install.

Realiza su función perfectamente, no hace falta ser muy manitas. Es super sencillo solo hace falta un martillo. la base circular donde apoyan los remaches en una cara es lisa y en la otra tiene un saliente para que encaje el remache.
