DC SUPER FRIENDS Trio Batcave

This is my son's second "Trio" toy! He just turned 5, he was 4 when he got the first one.We love it!My boys love legos also but these building blocks are much easier for my younger children to learn before getting into the complex lego building sets. But more complex than duplos, so its a nice stepping stone.My son got the construction set and now the Batcave and we plan on more to come.He can mix and match - being imaginative .. or just stick to building the set the way it comes.I love how each set has multi options. You get step by step directions for the first option and then just a photo of the second/third option. So my son has to pay attention to the picture and figure out for himself where and what he needs to build. So it does have some problem solving educational value.

This is our first Trio Building Block toy and I would recommend this with a few caveats. I will first say that this is NOT a building set that you can give to your 4-6 year old and expect them to build what they see on the box/picture...You will have to provide guidance and a little effort. As several reviewers mentioned, the box shows 3 or 4 different "batcaves" but the instructions only shows how to construct 1. The blocks themselves are made of fairly strong hard plastic which were pretty easy to connect vertically. However, some of the parts that needed to be connected horizontally will need a little adult muscle. With my help, we were able to get the batcave up and running in about 15 minutes - The final product was solid/firm and did not fall apart at the slightest touch. The set comes with a small Batman figure and Batmobile which is a really nice way to get their imagination going.Overall, my kids are happy and have already incorporated it into their pretend world - just be sure to be there to help him/her initially set it up.

I got this as a gift for my nephew (at the time age 4 and just turned 5) for Christmas and he absolutely loves this thing. The pieces are more than big enough that he can take them apart and put them back together himself. It was easy to show him how to put it together and he can move some of the pieces around to make the alternative bat cave (I think there were like 3 ways to put it together if I remember correctly). He's been happily playing with it ever since. It also came with the Batman figure and the Bat Mobile. There are a lot of other figures that will fit into this toy as well sold by Fisher-Price. Great toy, well to do creation, and ultimately a good buy for the Batman lover.

The first couple days it was used as the batcave, but lately it's just part of the rest of our Trio collection. My son just turned 4 and gets a little frustrated at putting it together how it looks in the picture. My 9 year old stepson has no trouble. I like Trio blocks in general so this is a good one -- couple of the parts are kind of big/not as useable with other things, but no biggie -- we have lots of others. I thought this was a good buy as my son love Superheros -- even my daughter likes it :)

Trio arrived in sealed box. There were key parts missing. The 8 two piece blocks were missing. You cannot build the set without them. Called Fisher Price's 800 number. They were totally worthless, zero help. The components are poorly engineered and there's no 4 or 5 year old on the planet that could assemble this and enjoy. Do not waste your money on this product. And don't expect Fisher Price to help. They could care less

The Easter Bunny got this for our 6 1/2 year old after he saw it on TV and his friend has it. The 50 steps it takes to build the batcave was too difficult for him to complete by himself. Just as other reviewers mentioned, it is advertised that 3 caves can be constructed with the same set, only one set of instructions are given. You are only supplied a photograph of the other two options. Once he played with it for about an hour, he wanted one of the other caves built. After 2 hours and much frustation, I finally completed it. I told my son he weren't going to change the cave any time soon...it's just too involved when you are going solely by a photograph. It specifies Ages 4+, but the difficulty level is beyond age 4. They should specify a parent's frustation level on the box as well...because this one was up there. The blocks themselves are neat, and maybe a 4-year-old can build their own creations with them, but this cave is just more difficult than expected. The Legos are easier to build with.

This is a great toy for those boys who love to build. My boy however, doesn't really like to build, and never really built it, he had me build it. My son was 4 when he got it, so maybe it's best for a kid that's a little bit older.

Bought this set for my son's age 4 and 7 to add to the collection of Trio blocks they already have! Would recommend Trio blocks to anyone with children, or grandchildren either boys or girls that like to build! They have spent countless hours using their imagination creating all kinds of vehicles, forts, buildings, towns...you name it they can build it! Batmans Batcave may have never been put together like the picture, but they don't care. I love that these blocks interchange and they can use any pieces with other sets! They have even got Grandma to buy some for her house! They never get tired of these blocks. Oldest son received a small set when he was just 3 or 4. So we have seen several hours of play! Nice size blocks and connectors so they don't get lost to easy. We purchased plastic containers to keep them all in. Would highly recommend them to anyone!
