An important message
As an new environmentalist, I had the idea that most of the gains in greenhouse gas reversal would come from turning away from fossil fuel and bringing green energy production to scale. While that's still a main point on the climate agenda, it was revelatory to read Cummins' data on the enormous amount of CO2 that can be sequestered with regenerative farming and ranching. He tends to recycle many of the same points over and over, hence the 4 stars. On the other hand, that's not such a bad thing, given that most of us are so far removed from the land that we need an education in how regenerative practices will have to interact with the current crop of farmers, marketers, consumers, financers, and politicians. An important message that is well worth taking the time to absorb and utilize in any way we can.

Advocates for Green New Deal and Climate Change as Most Critical Issues Facing Manking
I was really looking forward to understanding more about regenerative agriculture, but had to stop reading after encountering the first few paragraphs where the author highlighted climate change as the most urgent, critical issue facing mankind. I couldn't disagree more with his position. If he buys into the manmade climate change hoax, I have my doubts about his credibility on other issues. The author should stick to farming and let real scientists address the climate (especially those that don't fake the data, e.g. IPCC).Unfortunately, I donated to his organization. Next time, I'll have to do more research before I buy or donate.

Optimistic and surprising solutions to climate change!
This book is readable and engaging while laying out plans to sequester carbon with agricultural practices.Full of great facts and a whole new way to look at and build our soil and communities.I highly recommend to anyone looking for positive solutions to climate change!

Adequate CO2 required for life.
Full of childish untrue unscientific Babel. CO2, 400+ parts per million, or 0.04% of the atmosphere is historically low, very low. If it gets much below .02 % or less, all life will end, as all plants die if CO2 is too low. Everything we produce and eat as humans is due to adequate plant life. Look at the ice core records of temperature and CO2, there is absolutely no correlation between the two, and when there are parallel lines, the temperature rises first then 1000 years later The CO2 rises. Thank God for fossil fuels, the greatest energy battery that the earth has provided for us.

Bad book on important issue.
Written for people that already agree with the subject but lacking completely graphics, photos, interesting stories or examples of people working to enact the authors premise. One example is his advocacy of grass fed beef but not considering vegetarian approach. Do not buy this book.

Missed Opportunity
Mr. Cummins starts off assuming that anthropogenic global warming (AGW) is not only a verifiable fact but at a point of crisis (world will end in x number of years...). Never even considers the contradictory data or that there might even be contradictory data. He is also a proponent of the Green New Deal (GND) which he seems to think will solve all human problems. Lots of assumptions about these things with zero attempt to be convincing. Basically, these two things are treated like statements of religious orthodoxy.I'm all in favor of regenerative farming and don't eat conventional foods of any kind. I'm opposed to industrial farming and CAFOs as well as the massive government interference with subsidies, etc., which divert funds and attention from regenerative farming. That said, I was very disappointed in this book. I was really hoping he'd make a case for regenerative farming, much like "Sacred Cow", but his entire focus seems to be on implementing socialistic programs as if that is some kind of magic wand. Apparently the historical failures of socialism aren't relevant when considering the end of humanity. The book was very difficult to finish due to the almost fanatical drumming on the alleged virtues of the GND and assumption that socialism is a panacea.I gave it two stars for the brief descriptions of how regenerative farming helps build soil health. Reading "Sacred Cow" would be a much better use of your time (link below).https://www.amazon.com/Sacred-Cow-Better-Well-Raised-Planet/dp/1953295797/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1651535536&sr=8-1
