Great product! Inexpensive and works good
Used this to make a storage unit for hardware that spins. Hardware probably weighed between 150-200 pounds, My unit worked smooth right out of the package. I probably should have lubricated tbe ball bearings, but it worked fine without lube. Perhaps a little noisy, which probably could have been reduced with some grease, but didn't really matter for my application.I was concerned about the bad reviews that it didn't spin, or the ball bearings fell out.Looking at how it is constructed,, it is held together with a lip around the outside perimeter that is formed from the steel. I could easily see that being a problem if the lip is compressed too much, it wouldn't spin, or not enough the ball bearings would fall out. Mine was perfect though. I suspect that the people who had problems could adjust the lip a bit to solve their problem if they had some basic mechanics or metalworking skills. I would agree that things should work properly as supplied, But if you want to save money, sometimes you have to take a chance and be willing to put up with a little aggravation. But it looks like I was in the majority of people who didn't seem to have a problem!

Really improved dvd rack.
Dvd rack purchased came with plastic turntable. This was a great improvement. Did require drilling a whole in the bottom plate to install. Went very ease. Whole does not show. DVD rack should come with this.

My wife and I like to eat off a coffee table in our family ...
Occasionally, My wife and I like to eat off a coffee table in our family room . We have a variety of finger foods such as olives, pickles, cheeses, luncheon meats, etc. Also a variety of crackers and bread. The problem is that the larger the variety the more reaching is required. We decided a Lazy Susan would solved the problem but wanted one to fit the table. I decided to make one that fit our needs. I went to our local Lowes and bought a circular wooden top and a smaller base. I fastened the hardware with a bit of difficulty. The directions that came with it were OK but not great. I went and viewed an youtube video on the internet and proceeded to assemble the Lazy Susan. Initially, I drilled the screw access hole on the bottom smaller than the large hole on the mechanism. This was a mistake. After dropping a couple of screws in the access hole and not being able to retrieve the screws without taking apart what I had put together, I made the screw access hole as large as the mechanism's hole. Problem solved. The assembled product works great.

Four stars if you get one version - 1 star if get the other
I ordered these at two different times about a week apart. The first three were very good. Absolutely no sound when shaking them or after installing the round plywood top. Work great in a corner cabinet although they will never see 1000lbs. Metal edges were smooth, and the metal was coated with protective coating that gave it a uniform color. The packaging was marked Shepherd ( see picture) with directions for installing. The last one I received was in a plain plastic bag with a label (left one in the picture)- looks similar mechanically but sharp edges and some coating that isn't uniform. This would be ok if it wasn't for the extremely noisy operation of the bearings both when the product is shaken and when installed. This appears to be a cost reduced version although the selling price is the same. Shame on the product manager that authorized this change. I would buy more if I could get the first version as they are really quiet. I also ordered some smaller ones and they have the same issues. Returning them.

Money well spent
I wanted to build a large Lazy Susan for my table for gaming nights (board games/card games often required you to read text and it's very annoying to have the cards upside-down or side-ways to some of the players who sit around the table). After looking at buying a pre-built one, I figured I'd save a few dollars, build my own, and have it just the way I wanted. This bearing seems to be overkill for such a task, but I liked the overall size of 12", so I went with it it.I got it in, unpackaged it. A downside is no screws provided. I glanced at the directions, but it wasn't hard to figure out for yourself.I went to the local hardware store and bought a 23.75" round wooden platform. I brought it home, found center, drew a 12" circle, and threw this on. I Found 4x screws I had laying around and attached through the provided hole on the bottom of the bearing. I turned it over and invited over my friends.Despite having no bottom and it simply sat on the bearing for the table, the near 24" slab of wood took a lot of force to tip over. It rolled pretty smooth the whole night. Looking down in it, it seems there is a light coating of grease included on the bearings, though just a touch noisy. Ultimately, I think I will make a dedicated table with a revolving center using this bearing as I have good faith that this thing is solid and will last a long time.

Great quality and value
I love this turn table / lazy susan. It seems strong and well made. I did need to geese it when I received it because it was dry, had a grinding sound and didnt want to spin. After adding a little geese, it was perfect. I do not hold this against the product because during shipping the lubricant could get messy and because geese makes dirt stick and I would probably have had to clean it out. No lubrication also allows me to use the lubricant off my choice. The package says I can clean the bearings as I need to. I use it for dusty crafting and this is not a problem. As a mosaic artist, I find it convenient to turn my work at different angles to check the placement of my pieces. My work space is gritty and dusty and occasionally wet. I have not had my turntable for long, but I see no issues. I would highly recommend this item.
