Amazing Flavour! My favourite since 2007

I was turned onto yerba mate tea by Pamela Salzman (LOVE her!!!), who taught me the health benefits of yerba mate tea (more antioxidants than green tea people!). My husband is now a yerba mate addict. We like this brand, but they sell 2 kinds (one with mint and one without). It can be tricky because the title will not say "mint yerba mate," for example, but if you look closely on the packaging you can see a picture of mint leaves in the background. We happen to add fresh mint leaves to our tea anyway, but the mint yerba mate had a nice, very slight mint flavor. Just enough to make it taste fresh, and not so strong that it feels like you're drinking Colgate. We like both varieties. Just take care to look closely at the package so you know which one you're getting.

A great price and it shipped very quickly. It's a mate, pennyroyal, and peppermint blend, so yes, it is minty. I find the flavor well balanced though, and can taste all three; the pungent minty pennyroyal, the smoother peppermint, and the mate. Since it has pennyroyal in it there should probably be a warning for pregnant women to avoid it, or at least to do some research before deciding. I'll definitely be buying more when it's time. I'm having some right now. The pennyroyal and mate flavor persist and linger in my mouth for a fair bit after swallowing, but the peppermint I only notice while drinking. I really like it.

Smooth taste, but the flavor just disappears after your 3rd mate. Good for beginners I guess.
