Needs load resistors if using with all LED lights
Used on a '65 Mustang with LED front and rear signal lights. This flasher required load resistors to work with LED's (without one it wouldn't flash and the lights wouldn't operate). Once I got the load resistors in place it worked beautifully; flash frequency is pretty brisk about twice per second with a nice, regular rhythm; as soon as you activate the turn signal it flashes immediately and turns off instantaneously when turn signal is deactivated; makes a nice fairly loud clicking sound, which I prefer since the car has a pretty loud exhaust (built 289 with a 2.5" exhaust).

LED Problem Solved
The media could not be loaded. The problem with many LED signal light conversions is, “hyper flash” or no flash at all. This is usually caused by the “bi-metal strip” type of flasher unit’s controlling the lights. They work by resistance produced by the incandescent type bulbs. One way to solved this is splicing in a resistor, many of which are sold by the LED bulb makers. Another, simpler way, is to use “Standard Motor Products EFL1 Relay.” Their old school electro-mechanical tech is the perfect solution for me. And the clear housing allowed me to make this video. Maximum performance, minimal work. That’s always my favorite.

Great product, great value!
When I installed LED lighting in my 1970 Mustang the mechanical flasher units had a hard time and often would act as if the bulbs were burned-out -- they would give a steady on rather than flash. I replaced them with two of these electronic units (one for the hazards and one for the turn signals) and they work like a charm, giving a nice, strong steady and evenly timed flashing! I also have a good sentimental feeling having them in my car as my father was a parts designer for Standard Motor Products in the 1970's and 1980's!

Perfect
Fixed my bulb to LED conversion and somehow also fixed a ground issue I had in tail lights. Nice steady flash with clear sound. Very happy.

Not an LED relay
Fits great, just will not function with only LED lights. Must have incandescent bulbs on the same circuit.
