S1 - A cordless vacuum that can replace a traditional one.
Roidmi S1 - My last 2 vacuums have been Henry's. They do a good job, they are very robust, but are heavy and the lead although long, gets caught on furniture and corners which is probably the reason most people end up buying a cordless vacuum! I am the sort of person who does a lot of research before buying anything especially when it comes to electrical items and gadgets.I narrowed my choice down to the ROIDMI x20 and S1. Coming down to, for £100 more do I want slightly better suction, a better bin design (but the same 0.4l volume) and wireless charging. If the X20 had a larger bin, I probably would have chosen it over the S1, but it doesn't so I am now the proud owner of a Roidmi S1!I think the specs speak for themselves so it is probably easier to address the concerns I had and you may have.Does it clean well? The short answer is yes. It seems to do a good job on both hard floors and short pile carpets that I have in my house. I have heard it is not so good on long pile rugs and carpets so this maybe a consideration depending on what floor coverings you have in your home.It definitely does a better job at cleaning than my Henry Vacuum, it is agile and gets under sofas and into knooks and crannies far more efficiently. Does it mean, the S1 will completely replace my Henry? No, the Henry is much better at cleaning large mess such as small bits of dust and rubble when I have been DIYing or to clean up a big pile of sawdust in the garage. However for most normal household cleaning the S1 is king.It only has two power settings? Surprisingly no, it actual has four. There are two push switches on the S1 an on and off switch and a power selector. The power selector alternates between boost and normal. However, if you download the ROIDMI vacuum app then you can change the power of the standard setting with three options 80 watts (probably too low for most, but does offer the longest cleaning time), 130 watts and 150 watts. This is all done via Bluetooth. Once the standard power has been selected you can switch between this and the boost function via the power selector on the vacuum. I have been using the 150 watt standard setting and have been able to clean the ground floor of my house but that is pretty much it. That is with a couple of minutes total of boost. That includes a large utility/ laundry room, living room, dining room, kitchen, hall and downstairs toilet. It then needs a charge, this takes 2½ hours from flat. Upstairs I can clean the stairs, landing, 3 bedrooms, ensuite and family bathroom before a recharge again with boost. Although I haven't tried yet I think on the slightly lower 130 watt setting I would probably be able to also clean my second landing shower room and last two bed rooms on one charge. Which to me is a very impressive runtime for a cordless vacuum. It is probably also worth noting the app can connect whilst the vacuum is charging in standby. The app shows battery charge percentage, as well as time to full charge. Plus when to change the HEPA filter. You can also update the vacuums firmware, which is recommended. Is the bin (0.4 litres) too small? In truth yes, but it's not a deal breaker. If the floors aren't too dirty, it can squeeze about one storeys worth of dirt in.You may or may not have read that the bin becomes clogged at the top with larger items such as Cheerios. I can confirm this is the case and I believe this has been rectified in the X20. However it isn't too bad a problem as you can just pull the HEPA filter out and with a pop up handle the rest of the filter assembly pulls out. It's an extra step, but it's easily done, allowing you to wipe over the filter unit and wash out the bin if required. So again not a deal breaker and takes seconds to do.Do I need wireless charging? Wireless charging is included with the X20 via the magnetic wall mount, it is omitted for the S1. There is still a magnetic mount supplied but without wireless charging. You manually plug in a lead into the top. The cable handily clips into the side of the magnetic wall mount, so can be positioned to be easily plugged in when required. Wireless charging would be a nice feature to have but in reality it isn't difficult to push a connector into the top of the S1, so I do not miss it.Is the vacuum robust? It's not a Henry vacuum, but that would probably be the only thing surviving, along with the cockroaches after a nuclear explosion! It seems to be pretty tough though and appears to be more than capable of dealing with normal use.Overall, the S1 is a powerful cordless vacuum, it is visually and technically well designed as well as being outstanding value compared to other cordless vacuums. I am very happy with my purchase, which has exceededy expectation.I hope this review helps!

Would be an amazing hoover, but...
The media could not be loaded. Firstly, I got it when the price was around £100 and so I thought it was worth every penny. It's got a very sleek yet sturdy design and comes with pretty much every attachment you can find on a hoover, soft roller, carpet roller, sofa roller... and they all seem to work very well and combine with a decent suction power would clean up my apartament very well. The app works well too, it shows the battery level, allows to select different default suction power and also shows the percentage of the filter that's left. Another small feature that I loved is the light that turns on automatically when hoovering dark places. Frankly, everything at first seemed to work so great with the only downside being the dust bin, which is somewhat small and difficult to clean, but I thought I can live with it.Now the big BUT. The hoover started developing some sort of failure within the first few weeks. When the percentage dropped to 30% I could no longer hoover even on the lowest setting. The hoover would turn on but then after 1-10 seconds would turn off again, like it would perform some sort of reset, since the bluetooth connection would be reset (if the phone was connected), but the battery indicator would not go down a single bit. I would empty the hoover after every turn and would regularly clean it from the other side and would also use the attached brush to clean the filter but nothing helped. It still would last around 20-30min on full charge so I was alarmed but not annoyed. Then within another one month suddenly the same started happening when the battery is at 80%! This meant that I could no longer hoover my flat on a single charge. This is annoying, since I used the hoover barely a couple of times and the filter still remained at 80%... I looked up online and I realised it wasn't only me having this issue and thus contacted amazon about this. They asked me to contact the supplier directly myself and if that doesn't work come back to them. Luckily, the supplier was very helpful and said that I will receive a new S1 model and that I can dump my current hoover. I am currently waiting for the replacement but I am a bit sad that I have to just dump my almost new hoover.. I might try opening it up and see if I can figure out the true cause for this issue, but opening it up isn't an easy task from what I have seen, so wish me luck. I will give an update if the second unit develops a similar issue.UPDATE:Downgrading this to 1 star, since it is now clear that roidmi S1 hoover has an inherent faulty battery which the manufacturer fails to accept. After receiving the second unit straight from the manufacturer I charged it to full for around 8h. Hoovered a couple of times, total hoover time of 12min on power level 130W (standard gear can be set to 80W/130W/180W, while in turbo it goes above 200W, not sure the exact figure) and the same thing happened. The hoover still has 40% charge, however it only stays on for 1 second no matter the set gear. Again contacted the manufacturer with the video proof, who ignored what I have said and told me that hoovering for 12min on the highest setting (130W is NOT the highest setting, the app claims that I can hoover for 45min on 130W!) is enough and that I should try charging for 24h and try hoovering again. Surprise, surprise I did charge for 24h, however after hoovering for another ~7min the hoover reached 68% and again turned off :) So now I basically have TWO barely working hoovers. After contacting the supplier through another link and explaining the situation they told me to contact amazon again and ask them to find the nearest repair center for me… So here I am back to messaging amazon. An update to the first hoover, after charging it one more time it now turns off at 90% battery, which was about 2min of hoovering :) So basically two almost new hoovers aren’t enough to hoover 3 small rooms, great job roidmi, you really outdid yourself!

One of the greatest upgrades to my little flat. BUY!
I cannot understand the negative reviews against this vacuum cleaner. It is simply FANTASTIC. Neither I can understand how this has not gotten more attention. Ignore overpriced Dyson cleaners. This is a great deal. Good power, decent battery life and is compact as hell. This has been perhaps the biggest upgrade I have done so far to my little space. I even ditched a conventional bulky vacuum cleaner I used for nearly 4 years.Easy to use, easy to clean and easy to keep charged. My floors are clean EVERY day and I couldn't be happier.ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED

Kinda great!
The best things about the vacuum are its size, appearance, and attachments (so you can use it in the car cordless). The down side is that the charge doesn't last that long so it wouldn't do a large house in one go, but then again I think it's designed for smaller homes which is fair enough. We have to vacuum half the house, put it on charge while we do other cleaning, then vacuum the rest. The dust cylinder is on the small side so you do have to empty it every time, but it's easy to do and comes with a little brush to help clean it. The other day it started cutting out, but when we took it apart (all the bits click on and off which is good) we found it blocked where the foot meets the stem. Once cleared out, it works really well again. Yes, it could have slightly better suction, but we actually kinda love it. It comes with a magnetic holder which you stick to a wall to keep it upright as it wont stand up on its own. It's slim and looks sleek and modern.....'if Apple did vacuum cleaners this would be it', lol.

Une super acquisition
Un bonheur cet aspirateur, je me prends même à aspirer avec plaisir... c’est vrai que je partais de loin avec un vieux aspirateur d’étudiante mais quand même ! Maniable, léger, esthétique, ravie de cette acquisition
