Replacement carb for 1998 Arctic Cat 454 4X4.This carb made the engine run much better than the old carb. Assigning 4 stars due to some mods that were needed.Modifications to carb for fitment to the atv: 1) Throttle cable female opening on the carb. The atv has a throttle cable with a 90 degree metal fitting that is inserted into the carb. The carb's opening is too small to accommodate the stock 90 degree fitting, so I drilled out the carb's fitting slightly to ensure fitment. This solution worked and it was easy to do with a drill press. Once completed, it was easy attaching the throttle cable to the carb.2) Choke cable connection to carb. The original atv choke cable's connection did not fit and there wasn't a solution to keep the original ending of the choke cable to adapt it to the new carb. There is a provided fitting that goes over the choke cable and also screws into the carb opening for the choke. I needed to drill out the side that goes over the choke cable, which you need to drill the inner threads to make the opening wider. Ensure that you leave at least 1 inner thread inside the fitting (used locking pliers and drill press for this). Next, you'll need to remove the original cable's fitting, which a dremel cutoff disk came in handy, but make sure you don't cut the choke cable in the process. Next, there is a metal fitting that is at the end of the cable sleeve that needs to be remove. I used the same dremel cutoff and a cutting plier to remove. Once done, insert the fitting over the cable and then screw into the female choke opening on the carb.After both mods are performed, the carb is ready for placement, which was easy. The fuel inlet nipple placement is slightly off from the original carb, so my fuel line was not able to be ran the same route as original, which was behind the carb. Instead, I routed the fuel line in front of the carb and it wasn't an issue.With the above mods/adjustments it was a direct fit. I didn't need to change any jets. The atv started with ease and you'll only have to adjust your idle rev screw to ensure the atv idles correctly. You can do this after the carb has been installed.Gave it 4 stars due to mods that were needed. Otherwise, very satisfied that the atv feels new again.

First thing I noticed when I pulled the carb out of the box is no primer on the float bowl. Not a big deal, but you will need a little bit longer fuel line to reach the fuel inlet. I installed the float bowl and primer from my old carb.Next is the ferrule for the enrichment (choke) is a different size. I had to run a drill 3/4 of the way through in order to hook up the cable.The throttle cable is the same thing, had to drill out the threads in order to install the cable. The remote idle speed cable from the old carb won't fit, not big deal but does make adjusting the idle on a hot engine interesting.That's the only pitfalls. If it were actually a direct bolt on I'd give five stars. I did not have to do any adjustments other than idle speed, the carb functions great.For about the same cost as the chemicals needed to clean my old carb, I have a new carb and my Arctic Cat 454 fires up better than it has in a long time.

Throttle was the wrong size

came with large selection of jets had the perfect match tp what was in original.

First one only last 3 months then float needle started leaking, good for the price compared to oem let's see how the second one last

Was listed as replacement carb for Artic Cat ATV. Needs too much modifications to actually install as a replacement. Knowing this, wouldn't have purchased !

Everything about this carburetor is garbage you have to apply to return it the company was suppose to reply with in 48 hours it didn't happen
