Barbie As The Island Princess Swing & Twirl Tika Toy

I got this for my daughter's 5th birthday. It is cute, but the swing around trunk is useless. Tika is supposed to swing her trunk around, pick up the little doll and put her on her back. You are supposed to put one of the little dolls in front of Tika on a little cardboard mat that shows you where to place them. 9 times out of 10 it misses, which became very frustrating for my daughter. She also ownes the little elephants that you hook together. She would much rather play with those.

I almost did not purchase this toy for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas,after seeing some reviews,but she wanted it so badly,I decided to go ahead.It does take some practice,there is a little mat where you need to place Tika's feet,and the little princess,but when everything is postioned just right,they all work great.We have had a hit and miss a couple of times,but it really does work just fine,and my daughter claps her hands and squeals when it works.I got this on sale on Amazon for a very reasonable price,and am very pleased overall.

I have a 4 yr old and 3 yr old who opened this from Santa and after less than 5 minutes of playing with it - managed to break off the trunk - which then kept happening. Also my girls wanted to hold the trunk as it was moving and that caused it to make a ticking sound like it was going to break. So while this is such a cute toy and looked great on the commerical (it doesn't move as smoothly as shown on tv), its for a little bit older of a child.

I got this as a low-cost, high impact barbie gift for my little sis. She couldn't have been more excited, and for the price I'm glad to have stolen the show at her birthday party. It held up well to 4 -5 year olds and 2 supervising 13 year olds, and some interested adults at the party, and was still in working order when I visited my sis a few months later. The only issue is that, like with many barbie toys, the smaller pieces were nowhere to be found on my later visit.

My daughter loves this toy. The elephant is cute and will pick up the little dolls with no problem if you practice a bit with the template. My 2 year old grabbed it...and no doubt the elephant trunk will come off. I suggest buying it for an adept 4 year-old or 5 and up. Tika has glitter on the exterior, which scored points for my daughter and she loves playing with the little princesses along with her Island Princess doll. This was a birthday present for my granddaughter and she loved it. It was a little difficult figuring out how to match the dolls exactly so that the elephant would pick them up, but once we figured it out, we played for a long time.Great gift. Not sure how long it will last as there are a lot of small pieces to it. But I'd definitely purchase again.

Great value. Kids 6 & 4 loved it. It was their favourite Santa Present.Works very well when using the template but was also fun trying to guess where to put the doll to get picked up. Very good magnets in dolls and on trunk of elephant.Was wary of it due to other poor reviews but they were not warranted. Toy is very good and well made.
