Five years on, and the wait was worth it !
Five years ago, this lady released one of the finest debut albums of the decade, Relish. The superb single,One Of Us, opened it up to a large audience, and it sold millions worldwide. Righteous Love is the follow up, and it could not have been released any more secretively. Joan was dropped by her record label, who refused to release this album.Proof that the suits have no idea about the music they publish,is here in abundance. Joan has the most amazing voice, and it deserves to be heard globally. From the funky sound of the opening track to the haunting beauty of the Bob Dylan penned "Make you feel my love" Joan showcases her gift in all its glory. We are taken through rock, reggae and a touch of sixties soul, all blended superbly with that voice. It is hard to imagine there is a finer album doing the rounds at the minute."If I Was Your Man" contains slightly bizzare lyrics, coupled with a fresh indian backing. This would be a great single, and it may bring this excellent follow up album to the masses.I hope Joan is generous to us and tours europe. In an age of manufactured, pretty, and basically talentless bands, Joan remains a beacon of hope for true music lovers everywhere.Rock and roll!!!

Second album does not disappoint.
I got Joan's first album years ago, and I love the rocky, slightly blusey edge. She has a wonderful voice and some great tracks to show it off on. I read a really bad review for her second album, and avoided it. Only now have I gotten around to getting a copy, and I am not disappointed. If you liked the first one, you will like the second.

Good
Relish is my all time favourite album. When I heard it I wanted more, so i bought Righteous Love. I was slighly disappointed.Joan as a beautiful voice which she uses superbly in Safty In Numbers. However some of the songs on this album lack the origionality and individuality that the tracks on Relish had.If you are choosing this as your first Joan Osborne album i strongly recommend that you listen to Relish first.
