This brand is comparable to high-quality brands I've fed my dog in the past, such as Canidae and Blue Buffalo -- but at a significantly lower price. There are a few things I've been particularly pleased about:1. KIBBLE SIZE: The pieces of the beef kibble are bigger (but not too big) so they're great for larger dogs like mine. She likes the lamb/rice version just as well. Those pieces of kibble are much smaller, which is great if you have large and small dogs in the same household.2. MINIMAL CRUNCHED UP SEDIMENT: There's some kibble "dust" whenever you purchase large bags of dry dog food, but I'm happy to report that compared to all of the other higher-end brands I've bought before the amount is very minimal.3. SELL BY DATE IS REASONABLE: When I purchased other brands it was always a guess at how long I'd have before we hit the expiration date on the bag. After multiple orders I can attest to the fact that the sell-by date is many months out which means you're getting a fresher bag of kibble that will last you a bit longer.I'm thrilled to have found this food for my 70-lb Lab Mix. I love my dogs more than anything. Some information I have found crucial to my dogs health. Background - I own a pitbull & dogo argentino. Raw diet is the best for dogs; even more so with certain breeds; such as the dogo argentino. After the concerns with dog food from China, I am also hesitant to purchase dog food rather than make my dogs meals myself. The issue is that I do not trust myself to provide my dogs with the proper nutrition they need so I provide my dogs with meals consisting with half being of the raw diet and half using this pet food.I use Lamb & Rice due to dog allergy to chicken; which is typical. This is great dog food to give to your dog. I also recommend cycling the food you give. Great to mix with tuna, coconut oil, oatmeal, tumeric, ginger, probiotics, chlorella, carrots, and various other natural raw ingredients.. I also give a touch of garlic (on't use too much though) with any raw meats to kill any possible worms. MAKE SURE GARLIC IS NOT FROM CHINA!!! When you are told garlic is toxic for dogs, it is referencing garlic from china, which is also toxic to humans. DAn alarmingly high percentage of Chinese garlic is actually grown in untreated sewage water, likely to also contain lead, sulfites, and other harmful substances. The use of toxic pesticides in large-scale farming export businesses is often required in China during production.After the garlic is harvested in China, standard processing includes chemical sprays to prevent sprouting and a thorough bleach bath to whiten the bulbs. By law, in China, the final step for most produce exports is to fumigate with methyl bromide, a substance that, according to the UN, is more than 60 times as dangerous as chlorine because it causes both the central nervous system and respiratory damage.
