Stainless Steel Pot Watcher – Prevent Pasta, Soups and Milk from Boiling Over

IT WORKS!Tried it out on a lark. It really works and saves cleaning cooktop. Wish I knew about it sooner.

If you have a chance to obtain raw (farm fresh) cow milk, this is a must. You have to boil the milk before use, and if you have ever done that, you know that there is a very fine line (literally seconds) in between milk being "almost ready" and boiling over, making a mess and ruining the taste. With this you can go and do other things around the house, since when milk starts to boil, it will prevent it from boiling out (and burning), plus it will emit a light clanking sound, almost acting as a alarm. There is also a glass version of it, but they can break or chip (ending with glass shards in your milk), so I decided to try this one. Cleaning is also a breeze. Very pleased.

these are the bomb. They work so well to help let you know when the water is boiling to help avoid overflow. Every kitchen should have this item.

I bought this to replace my glass pot watch. I have broken 4 glass pot watches and one bottle bottom. The rattling of the glass ones is nice and loud but it tends to crack them. This is definitely not as loud but it will never crack or break. I just have to listen a little better. This is definitely heavier than I expected.As for people who expect this to never let their pot boil over, they are completely mistaken how a pot watch works. The pot watch rattles when boiling has started so you know to turn it down. It helps to let you know faster because it concentrates the air from boiling into the disk and indicates it earlier thus giving you time to get to it.

I needed to replace the glass pot watcher I had and thought this would be the perfect replacement. A) It won't crack like glass ones do, and B) I can keep it handy on my magnetic knife strip; no more searching through the kitchen utensil drawer. WRONG! If it's stainless steel, why is it impervious to magnets? The item does what I need it to: lets me know when the pot has come to a boil. It just doesn't seem to be what it's supposed to be. Color me confused.

Love them. Lost my old one from pampered chef.

It was a waste of money because I don't remember to put this in my pots plus I should've read on whether if it's safe to use in different dishes.
