Great product!
Okay, so I have super long, thick hair, and managed to kill 2 Revlon blowdryers in one week!!! In all fairness, the second one was a worn out one that I replaced the first one for. The first one is one of the highest-rated Revlon blowdryers on Amazon, and it lasted me less than 6 months. I was super disappointed, so combed through customer reviews before deciding on this Xtava dryer.First, it is super heavy-duty. It is heavy. My mom, who's in her mid-60's, specifically looks for lighter-weight hairdryers, because as she's lost strength with age and they hurt her arm. This dryer initially did that to me. It is NOT at all lightweight. After a few weeks of use, I've gotten used to it, but I wasn't completely sold at first. Also, I like dryers where the attachments fit into the dryer nozzle. These slip-on to the end of the nozzle, and sometimes they slide right off, so that I don't like. Also, I'm not soooo sure that it's as quiet as it claims, but who can really tell when it's right in your ear. However, my hair does dry in a fairly normal time frame (I can't claim it dries super fast or anything, as some have) and while product and less-frequent washing probably helps, I've noticed my hair is very shiny these days. Overall, I DO like this hairdryer and am happy with it. I just hope this one lasts a significant amount of time, then I'll love it!11/09/15 UPDATE:Well...another one bites the dust. In all fairness, I dropped the dryer about a foot and a half onto the carpet while using it, but that is apparently all it takes. I'm extraordinarily clumsy, but still super disappointed that it wasn't more tough. However, I do really love the dryer and would probably buy another if they were in stock. They just need to make them a little tougher!

Cool dryer!
I like this hair dryer. I chose it because it uses less energy than most (1200 W) and I've been trying to reduce our bill. However, I got more than I hoped for. It also is a much cooler hair dryer. Generally hair dryers use some combination of two methods for drying: heat and air speed. This one has a more powerful fan but cooler heat settings than other dryers I've used. It dries really quickly without heating up the entire bathroom. I like that, especially in the summer. There's nothing worse than sweating off your makeup while trying to dry your hair.My natural hair is thick, fine, mostly straight, and shoulder length. This dryer does a good job with drying and styling as long as I keep brushing as I dry. Otherwise the powerful fan can tangle it.The description says it has two heat settings, but it also has a third temperature setting which is no heat at all. There are two speeds and it comes with a diffuser and two different sizes of concentrator nozzles. It weighs 1.3 pounds and doesn't tire my arm out. I used a sound meter to measure the volume and it measured at 63 decibels, about the sound of normal conversation at three feet. For comparison I also measured my old Conair dryer and it was 73 decibels, about the sound of busy traffic. So, the Xtava was definitely quieter. The cord is long and thick so it makes storage a little more challenging and it definitely doesn't make a good travel dryer. However, overall I am very satisfied with this dryer.

it has the WORST button/switch type and placement of anything I have ever ...
Disclaimer: I have curly hair, so I have only used this with the diffuser.Pros: It does what it's supposed to (dry hair!). It's not too loud. It's sleek looking. It comes with a diffuser.Cons: For crying out loud, it has the WORST button/switch type and placement of anything I have ever used. Ever. Why on God's green Earth they decided to put those particular buttons/switches right where your hand goes, I will never understand. Every time I want to move it around, I have to make sure I grab it in the right spot so I don't change the heat setting or air flow, or completely shut it off. The cool-blast button is also exactly where you want to put your finger when you hold it, and it presses with next to no pressure. I either have to hold it by the very bottom of the handle (awkward, it's top heavy), or over the air intake (also awkward, my hands are small). The diffuser has rough plastic spikes (? not sure of the correct term), and sometimes they catch on a curl and completely frizz it out (it looks like I brushed it D-: ). My old dryer had a smooth plastic diffuser, and in the 7 years I had it, no curl ever fell victim. Not even once.Overall, I probably wouldn't recommend it due to it's ergonomic issues. That said, it's all about personal preference, so I wouldn't not recommend it, either. Just be aware of the button issue.

BEST HAIRDRYER/DIFFUSER COMBO EVER!!!
Hands down the BEST diffuser/hairdryer combo you'll ever own for the rest of your life. Period. I have always had short or long wavy to curly hair and struggle with it all the time. I went so far last year as to have my hair professionally straightened using a Keratin treatment because I just couldn't find a way to love my hair again. The Keratin was okay for a while, but I (and my boyfriend) wanted my soft curls back. I was even told by a few friends that with straight hair I was less approachable. Weird. Anyway... I just had my hair chopped to just below my ears in an effort to "start over." I purchased the hairdryer and this diffuser as a "combo deal" from Amazon and what AMAZING PRODUCTS THEY ARE!!! This is day 2 of using the same products I've always used in my hair (conditioner in the shower/leave in after towel drying/keratin & smooth and straight combo) but this dryer/diffuser has made ALL the difference. I can now easily dry my hair on the warm/high setting in less than 10 minutes and my hair is shiny, the curls are defined, and there is absolutely, positively not one bit of frizz!! This combo has been a lifesaver for my hair! I can now re-embrace my curls and never have to pay over $250 for a straightening treatment again!! Thank you XTAVA!!!
