Yongnuo Upgrade RF-603 II C1 Flash Trigger/Wireless Shutter Release Transceiver Kit for Canon Rebel 300D/350D/400D/450D/500D/550D/1000D Series

These triggers have been an amazing addition to the camera bag. Whether you wish to use them to trigger flashes or remote trigger a camera they worked great all around.

Worked for me perfectly for 4 years. Pro's: - Great for their price - Multi-channel setup allows you to ensure you're not caught in a web of other photographer's triggers if you go to big events. - Allows for camera trigger + flash trigger setup - Generally works within a good distance Con's: - Cheap quality (light plastic used) - Trigger slides easily to "on" in a bag - Does not have an auto-off function so if you accidentally leave it on or it gets knocked into an "on" position, your batteries will be drained fully - Stopped syncing with each other after 3 years (tried everything the manual and web suggested to fix it, nothing yet) After 3 years of using these, I would say I got my moneys worth and will happily buy another pair if they'll last another 3 years (hopefully longer though).

I got the C1 version because it fits into the Fuji X-T1 remote port. With this set I can remotely trigger my camera and Yongnuo flash off camera for $35. It's great for photobooth type stuff where I don't want to be behind the camera (Kids! not selfies!) or studio where I don't want to run to my camera every time I need to trigger it. A PW solution like this can cost 8x more, I know because I have 6 of them from before I learned about these. PW don't come with the release trigger like these do, it had to be purchased separately and it costs about the price of this set. To be fair these do not support TTL or High Speed Sync (I think). But they're perfect if you can use your lights manually or have a light meter. There is no pre-trigger on the cable, you press the test button 1/2 way to focus and all the way to trigger. I usually just prefocus manually and set it so I don't worry about how hard I push the button. Also the triggers and cable will not keep the camera awake. This set plus a Yongnuo 560 costs less than 1 PW. Since I almost never use TTL and the X-T1 syncs so slow (nothing like the X100s) this is great. I have not run any long range tests but outdoors doing group shots I have not had misfires or non-fires. Last minor issue is that it uses AAA batteries. I know it helps keep it smaller but since strobes use AAs it would be nice to keep to 1 battery size instead of managing 2. PWs use AA.

Tried a Viltrox J-120-C1. With new batteries could not get the trigger to work reliably nor to work unobstructed beyond 9 feet. So was returned. Ordered Yongnuo RF-603C1 II after seeing video on Youtube about operation and flexibility. The trigger is set up on a Canon T3i . Packaging and documentation good. The subject was very wary bird life. Took more than 500 remote images in past week with RF-603 II. Sometimes in the sun all day on a 95 degree day. Trigger button action worked each time, every time. Half press to auto-focus, full press to trigger the shot. Good, battery life. Verified operation at 30 meters where the signal had to go through window blinds, double pane glass, window screen and camera covering. So my expectation is the RF-603 may work as claimed at an unobstructed 100M. The status lights on each unit show connection and triggering are not too bright for night work nor too dim in daylight. The result is the desired image was captured.

Did not work on my Canon T3i. tried everything. The unit will fire the flash my pressing the button on top (so I know they're taking to each other), but the shutter release on my camera wont fire the unit. I tried every combination of settings but it won't fire. Returning the units..........very frustrated.

Wasn't reliable.

I purchased this electronic photography accessory from Shield Distribution thru Amazon.com. The order was placed on March 20, 2015 and the package was received in Miami, Florida three days later. It just can't get any better than that. No delivery charges were made. Delivery service---first class. The radio devices worked perfectly on my DSLR Canon EOS Rebel T2i camera and on my Fujifilm X-30 mirrorless camera. The Yongnuo RF-603C II radio units performed flawlessly, as advertised. On several occasions I used the radios as a remote control unit. One was attached to the DSLR camera and the other one was operated by me as a remote control. The camera was nested on a tripod and I was shooting in very slow speed, thus the need of a remote control to avoid camera shaking. The radio were great. Overall, the unites look and feel cheap, specially the locking rings. On several occasions they get stuck up and it becomes a very cumbersome job to get the wheels moving again. The cheap plastic makes the threads weak and vulnerable. Since the units are so light and fit so tightly on the hotshoes, I have decided not to lock them. Too much of a hassle making these wheels work when they get stuck. I didn't like the design of the wheels. Difficult to turn them with ther jagged design. Another problem, and this is a big one, is the tight fit of the radios on both the camera's hot shoes and a Yongnuo Speedlite YN565-EX. It's a real problem getting them to slide into place on the hotshoe. Sliding them out is a breeze, though. For example, the problem is so great that I gave up installing them on my Fujifilm X-30, because I fear I could damage the hotshoe. The same problem persists with my Canon DSLR camera. The low manufacturing quality of the units make them almost impossible to use. If I had known of this problem, probably I would have purchased a better quality product. I hope Yongnuo will listen to these reviews and upgrade their products, since they perform great except for these manufacturing and design flaws. But I guess you get what you pay for. The price is very affordable, and that is why I decided to make the purchasing decision. If the hotshoe problems continue, I'm seriously considering upgrading to the Yongnuo YN622C TX E-TTL wireless flash transceivers. I understand they are the best and most affordable wireless flash triggers than uses ETTL for Yongnuo YN565. I hope that the locking mechanism is better than the RF-603CII and the design of the hotshoe mechanism is better. If anybody knows about issues with this product, please advise through this channel, to avoid making another mistake. Other than problems described, these radios are a great product for off-camera speedlite photography. However, Yongnuo needs to polish them some more. I honestly think three stars is the best rating I can give this product.

This item is really good. Tested on Canon 1100D and works like a charm. After connecting, half press focus the camera and full press release the shutter. After connecting the cable there is no need to mount it on the hot shoe. In fact if you want to use the flash on the camera, or an external flash, it better not to connect the flash through RF-603. Just mount the flash directly on the hot shoe and let RF-603 lie beside the camera connected through the cable. That way the camera control / adjust the flash to get the best pic.

very good, functions as described, no problems after using for months and months. Very sturdy and good quality material, will not break easily. fantastic product. worth the money if you use it often.

For the price, it is a very valuable item. The range of the transmitters is also very impressive as the flash can be triggered from quite a distance. The battery life is very decent and can last for a very long event (read: wedding). The only drawback is the channel setting buttons, which are very tiny and placed inside the battery compartment.

Works perfectly well. Don't forget to turn off after use. Battery drains by a couple of days if kept on.
