I love Dick Grayson Batman Stories. Not so cool like ‘Black Mirror’ but definitely a good read.

So I’m normally a big Scott Synder fan but…
Scott Snyder.. Think Black Mirror, the sensational New 52 Batman run, think Dark Knights: Metal/Death Metal, think Gates of Gotham?Agreed with one exception… Gates of Gotham was boring…I literally only bought it because Snyder wrote it…The worst Snyder book story wise I’ve read so far…I will say I’m giving this 3 stars when comparing this story to other works Snyder has done…By Snyder’s standards this book was below par had it not been Snyder I may have given the book 4 stars..Maybe

The Gates of Gotham explores the origins of Gotham!
If you haven't read Batman Hush, pick that storyline first before you read this one. There will be characters in that book that will slide right in to this one perfectly, but if you don't read that story first, you will be asking yourself "who the heck is this mother flower character?" That being said, while I am familiar with the Batman characters via movies and cartoons, I am attempting to familiarize myself with the mythos of Batman in the comic book format. This is the 2nd Scott Snyder story on Batman I have read, the first was The Court of Owls. Kyle Higgins assists him as an author with various illustrators working on the art. I definitely loved how the origins of the City of Gotham was presented. Lots of time we just hear about Batman, but not the background to why the Wayne Legacy and Gotham was so important. Here is the catch about this book. This is not the Bruce Wayne Batman we all know. This is Dick Grayson as Batman. Dick is trying to prove himself worthy of being the Batman character and self questions himself. While doing this, he also has to convince those working with him that they can function together as a team and have trust among each other to survive.
