Does the job!
I work in broadcast and getting audio from AV can sometimes be a challenge. Because that's usually the case I've gotten basically every kind of adapter you can need. This one has come in handy a few times to run different kinds of audio feeds from the AV area to my cameras and livestream set up. The metal on this is nice and sturdy and I've always gotten a good sound, anything that's been a lesser sound was because of the house XLR cords and that can easily be solved with a pad/replacing the xlr. It's one of my must haves in my audio kit.

Versatility...
I use this adapter on the interface/mix board end of 1 channel of my XLR cable snake, to change 1 channel into my monitor return. I plug an XLR to Female 1/4" stereo adapter to the other end to create a headphone jack at the musician end of my setup. Now I can record with 6 channels, and monitor with 2. (It's an 8 channel XLR snake). Why do I go through all that you ask? because I have an 8 channel XLR snake, and instead of buying another snake, why not ADAPT the snake I have? hence the word adapter... :-P I love it. It's a great tool to add versatility to your setup, no matter what you're doing. Definately recommend this product to anyone that would happen to need to change an XLR to balanced 1/4" stereo... It's high quality, and very solid, I definately expect this to last me a long time.

Simple, effective, could look/feel better
These do a single job, and they do it well. They just work. My reason for dinging them a star, is that I've Seen the Planet Waves adapters, and Hosa's stuff is just not really as polished and nice. These stick in some XLR males (in direct boxes, for example), and really have to be pulled/wiggled out with effort. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but the release buttons are really tiny and pointy, and you have to press them crazy hard to pull them out of any panel mount connector. Plus the finish leaves a bit to be desired, although over all that doesn't matter much. In short: if you need them, their fine. They could just be more classy in their physical design.

Still female to female,
as another reviewer mentioned. As the photo is clearly femelle á femelle he took a chance and got what he wanted in the first place. His review was recent so I did the same (thanks!} with the same desired result. Nice piece of gear for the price, heavy and sturdy--you don't want the kids to throw it across the room. If Amazon changes its info and offers a female to male here ( (the point of which would be?) they should note it here. For the moment you're fine, only Prime f to f adapter here, a good price too. I'm still awaiting the Platinum Elite Pro Reference Titanium Edition, just praying they can keep the price below 4k.

Does the job!
I manage a classic rock band. I recently ordered a bunch of stuff to replace aging gear. Cables, mics, stands, snakes, etc. We have now been out on a couple of gigs with the stuff. It is all good quality and working fine. Does exactly what I expected it to do. No surprises. In the interest of time I am applying this exact same review to all of the items I bought for this purpose and am happy with. FWIW, I am also taking the time to be critical of the items I am not completely happy with.

Great budget Adapters!
I bought a lot of these Adapters that seem to work with no frills. They work as they should. The only thing to really review other than whether or not they work is whether or not the pressure clip works well, and whether or not the measurements were made tight enough that you can fit wires in without them falling out easily, and the answer is absolutely. Great fit for the cables!
