The VIKINGS BLADE Adjustable Double Edge Safety Razor is an elegant, versatile shaving tool that combines precision, comfort, and style. With its adjustable settings and premium presentation in a luxury case, it’s an excellent option for both beginners and experienced shavers looking for a reliable and customizable razor. Here’s an overview of its features, performance, and quality:Design & Build QualityThe razor has a solid, premium feel, crafted from high-quality brass and stainless steel, which makes it heavier than most standard razors. This weight distribution gives it a balanced, comfortable grip that makes shaving smoother and reduces the need to apply pressure. The handle has a finely knurled texture, providing a secure grip even when wet, which is ideal for a steady, confident shave. The razor is beautifully designed with a timeless aesthetic that will appeal to those who appreciate classic grooming tools.Adjustable SettingsOne of the standout features of this razor is its adjustable head, allowing users to choose from multiple aggression settings. This customization lets you switch from a mild shave for sensitive skin or touch-ups to a more aggressive setting for a closer shave. The settings are easy to adjust with a twist mechanism, making it simple to find the ideal angle and blade exposure. This versatility makes it great for users with different skin types or shaving preferences, as well as those who want more control over their shaving experience.Shaving PerformanceThe VIKINGS BLADE safety razor provides a smooth, comfortable shave, with minimal irritation. It’s especially effective at reducing the risk of nicks and cuts compared to more aggressive fixed-head razors, making it suitable for both daily use and a close, occasional shave. The razor’s head holds the blade securely, keeping it stable during use, which helps reduce tugging and gives consistent results. For beginners, this razor’s adjustable nature offers a forgiving learning curve, while experienced users will appreciate its customizable shave.Luxury Case & PresentationThe razor comes in a well-crafted luxury case with a foam insert that holds it securely, making it perfect for travel or as a gift. The case has an elegant design with a durable exterior, which keeps the razor protected during travel. This adds a touch of class and convenience, especially for those who travel frequently or want a polished, professional grooming setup.Pros:High-quality, durable construction with a balanced weightAdjustable settings allow for a customized shaving experienceComfortable grip with anti-slip knurled handle designSmooth, irritation-free shave that’s suitable for all skin typesComes with a luxury case for storage and travelCons:Heavier weight might take getting used to for those new to safety razorsTwist-to-adjust mechanism may need occasional cleaning to keep it smoothSlightly larger head size may be tricky for precise trimming in tight areasVerdict:The VIKINGS BLADE Adjustable Double Edge Safety Razor is a top choice for anyone who values a premium shaving experience. Excellent First Experience with a Safety Razor
Very pleased with this razor. It’s my first time using a safety razor, and thanks to its adjustable system, I was able to quickly learn how to get a good shave. Highly recommended.

Vikings Blade Meiji punches WELL above its class. GREAT first razor.
I've had the Vikings Blade Meiji for a couple years now, and let me cut to the chase. This is a perfect gateway drug to getting into wet shaving. You get SO MUCH value from Vikings Blade (in EVERYTHING they do), I have simply gotten to the point if Vikings Blade is selling, I must see what it is.If you are interested in the Meiji, it's because you intentionally want a heavy, short-handle, high quality, double-edge razor, and this delivers. The color scheme is different and interesting, and there are peculiarities to the razor which help you figure out what you like and what you don't. Do you like a flat guard or a closed comb? Well, you've got both options here. Do you prefer mild, or more aggressive? Again, you get a range of possibilities. Do you prefer a heavy razor or a lighter one? You'll definitely know. What I love about this razor. The heft. It's big and heavy in the hand. It's easy to "let the razor do the work." You need apply NO pressure when using the Meiji. The adjustability. Like many other adjustable razors like this one, you really need to open the doors a bit when you do the adjustment, then lock it back down. Otherwise, the adjustment ring goes loose. Crack the doors, adjust, then lock back down.I love butterfly razors, and this one has an excellent mechanism. It delivers an excellent shave. Period. What don't I love? The asymmetrical flat bar/closed comb sides end up being educational for the first few shaves, then I just wish both sides were closed comb and the thing was symmetric. You end up dialing in what you love, then the option becomes "that side of the razor I never use."It doesn't stand by itself. The rounded bottom is very nice, and the rattle end allows water to go through well. But if you want to keep this on your sink, you're either using a razor stand or it's sitting on its side. My 1959 Gillette Fatboy, on the other hand, stands just fine.I wish the whole thing were brass. Many razors, especially below $80, use a combination of metals because of price and practicality. This has parts made with Zamak (a.k.a. "pot metal"), which is a zinc alloy. It works really well, and the majority of modern razors have some parts made of it. But Zamak eventually corrodes. You will probably get several decades out of your Meiji, but I think it's safe to say nobody is going to be arguing over "dad's razor." To be fair, you're also not paying hundreds of dollars for all stainless steel or plated brass. If it was all brass, you wouldn't be hitting these price points. This is a great "gateway drug" for wet shaving because you are getting incredible value for a very reasonable price. This is the highest quality introduction to what DE shaving can be. I also think, if you are new to the hobby, this will not be your last razor. Not by a long shot.Because of the Meiji, I figured out I like the Gillette Fatboy (which definitely inspired this razor). But I wouldn't have looked at the Fatboy if the Meiji hadn't given me insight into what I think is important in a shave. The Meiji checks SO MANY important boxes, especially for those getting into wet shaving. I recommend it and all of Vikings Blade products without hesitation. Their razor stand and lather bowls are unparalleled. Their blades, well...did I mention their razors, stands and lather bowls? Seriously, blades are all personal choices and you'll figure out what you like with some experimentation.Still...whenever I see a new product from Vikings Blade, I usually end up looking for my wallet. They're that good.

It's pretty much perfect
This is my first safety razor, so take my review with a grain of salt. I love the weight and short length, the ability to vary the aggression to figure out what works best for me, and the overall appearance. Easy to swap the blade, a straight side and combed side, easy to clear the hair and soap between strokes (alot of reviews say the opposite)... I do have to fiddle with the base of the head to ensure its straight, but they made that very clear in the box and how to easily fix it, it's just annoying and got me the second time I shaved, not realizing how easy and often it becomes uneven when changing the blade. No buyer's remorse, so that plus the sturdiness of the razor means I'll be using this for a long time. I also want to know what the metal ball at the base of the handle is for 🤔
