WORKS WELL 5 TO 7 YEARS IF YOU DO IT RIGHT
This is the quality milky spore disease powder, and the powder is a waaaay better deal than the granules; check the amount in each. This lasts about five years for us, and sixth year the moles start coming back near the edge of where it was placed.I "slice" the earth with a spade about 500-600 times on 1 acre lot, powder the hole from a cup of powder, then step on it. DO ONLY WHEN SOIL IS 60F+!The first year, grubs that are black on one end turn all white, which means infected with Milky spore. The following Spring your earthworms disappear due to carnivore moles not finding grubs, then moles tunnel over to your neighbor's lawn!Scattered mole tunnels began reappearing after fifth year, but not as bad as neighbor's lawn always is,Beware of copycat packaging that doesn't say St. Gabriels, but packaging is same color!

Great Product - Works as Advertised
Milky Spore is a bit pricey but when you consider that one application of the powder will protect for nearly ten years then it is well worth the investment. I applied the powder in April of 2019 and it is still doing the job. It is a fantastic product!I saw some comments about the safety of this product. Milky Spore will only harm Japanese Beetle Grubs and will have no effect on any other insect. Milky Spore Powder is a natural, safe and effective grub control product that is OMRI certified organic. It does not affect pets, beneficial insects, fish, bees, birds, other animals, plants, or man. It is not a poison. You just need to ensure that your pets are not in the area while you are applying the power. After the powder is watered in there will be no issues for humans, pets or wild life.I've done several videos on this product on my YouTube channel, Bud's Smart Home if you want to source more information on proper application of the powder.

This product is the most cost efficient
This product is the most cost-efficient way to deal with grub worms in your lawnHowever, it may take 2-4 years to completely saturate your lawn depending on the size of your yard.It is also important that the treatment gets enough water or rain to saturate the area. The best times to use are in the spring when you get regular rain, or in the fall after you reseed your lawn.

Past 12+ years "chem free" with this has been very effective, easy and average cost a few dollars/year for large yard
The joyous sight of kids and pets tumbling all over a yard isn't so joyous when wondering about chemical exposures. So I didn't apply anything for years until I found the Milky Spore instead. Meanwhile, the grubs flourished and a skunk family happily followed. Since the infestation was bad, I started with a round of beneficial nematodes for some more immediate relief, then for longevity, I applied Milky Spore in 2004 to my and my parents' white grub infested yards and am only since last year starting to see a few grubs returning. I might not even have had those if not for a tree line that's been pushed back further exposing some previously untreated areas and some possible neighboring infestations that inched their way back through that area, as well as some new likely carried in on some new topsoil added over the years. Last year I purchased enough to finish most of both yards again and this order this Spring finished that job up. The lawn is lush and green and no sign of any grubs once again in the veggie, flower or shrub beds. Plenty of those are typically favorites of japanese beetles and grubs too. Of all the yard and garden maintenance there can be to do, this has got to be one of the easiest, least expensive on average, best bang for the buck and effort to do. The rewards are easy and fairly quick - and the best reward of all is no chemicals on any foods, hands or feet tracking into and through the house.

Very effective product.
Effectiveness: This product worked very well for us. The Japanese beetle population plummeted this year. Sure, we still have incoming beetles from neighboring yards, but we don't have the massive defoliation experienced in previous years when were just using a few traps in critical areas.Application: The powder form of this product is probably best applied to a mowed lawn on the afternoon of a dry day during a season with gentle rains. The dry day prevents ground dampness from clumping the powder and plugging holes in the applicator. Our applicator was home made - an old cardboard Christmas paper tube with a plastic baggie tied over one end with elastic bands. We poked some holes in the plastic to allow powder to come out when we tapped the tube on the ground. Then we poured some milky spore powder into the open end, and walked the yard in a grid patter tapping the tube ever foot or so. When the applicator got plugged up, we simply got a new baggie to cover the end.The gentle rain later that week soaks it into the ground without washing it all down a gutter or into a stream. As with any concentrated product, you are advised not to inhale the dust, and to wash up thoroughly and change clothes afterwards.Amount: We have a fairly large yard. We did our whole yard last year, and had half the box to spare. The alternative is to buy the granulated product, and use the same spreader you use to lime your lawn. The less concentrated, granulated version of this product comes in large bags - and you will likely need several.

Buyer Beware
I like using safe and effective grub controllers such as milky spore mediums.I dont like the way it was mishandled in transit.I have used this germ-warfare weapon every few years to help control the grub and beetle onslaught we used to have to fight tooth and nail. It works like a charm and has no bad side effects so far as I can tell. But it is alive, so it must be treated as a living entity , not like a box of arsenic or DDT powder. It is a hot sunny day in SE NY today. The box was left in full sun. I didnt receive any notification concerning delivery. It sat in the sun and baked for nearly an hour.As it came the final mile in a postal jeep it was probably baked even before it got here. The inside of the box was 110 F-degrees. I didnt open the bag to take the temperature of the spores' medium powder. I am not confident that the spores are still active. In future I will go to a garden supply shop for milky spore refills.
