ProTuff Products Medium Fine Mesh Hot Tub Spa, Fountain, and Swimming Pool Cleaning Leaf Rake Skimmer Net, 13 Inch (Net Only)

I’ve been meaning for a while to write this review. 3 years is plenty long enough to honestly say I spent my money well. I’m so happy I didn’t get a cheapo pool net from a local store. I’ve had plenty of those- of course they didn’t last. But this one from ProTuff is still sturdy and doing the job I bought it for. It’s the first thing I grab to start cleaning my pool every spring on opening, which usually winds up being a big cleanup thanks to accidentally dumping the contents of the pool cover in the pool while trying to uncover it. I really wanted to write this review after the last major storm we had, although I know this could void my lifetime warranty. That’s ok- I have to say this. The storm was so bad that several concrete blocks were pulled into the pool (they were being used to hold the cover in place). It was too cold to get in the water to get them out. I have a vinyl liner and knew I had to be careful not to puncture it while trying to get these blocks out. I tried several ideas, but in the end used my ProTuff net just enough until I could get ahold of the block. So basically this thing saved the day! Would definitely buy again.

This is an amazing little rake/net. I did not order for a spa but for a tougher job than that. I use this net to clean my small in=ground fish pond. I originally ordered the 17 inch net without realizing how big the net was in comparison to my small pond. It did a good job but was far too bulky for a pond that is 8'x6'x41/2 feet deep. no problem because we also have an in-ground pool so I gave it to my husband to use in his pool and there, the 17" net did an excellent job. I reordered the 13" for my pond and I used it today for the first time and I am very pleased. It immediately scooped up the twigs, leaves, all debris and even the little clumps of algae that I stirred up . The net is sturdy without being bulky or heavy which is important. i am a (very old) senior citizen and only about 4'11 and I enjoy caring for the pond and the fish myself. The net is also very deep which allows me to scoop up a lot of stuff without constantly having to empty the net every other scoop which I had to do with my old net. These features as well as the lifetime guarantee gives me the peace of mind that I wont have to replace the net every two months like the others. Of course this is only day one and so we will have to see how it holds up in the Florida sun. But if it doesn't, no worry, I looked up the ProTuff products before I ordered the first net and I am confident they will stand by their product. I only wish I had looked on Amazon before buying all my other nets. Thank goodness for Amazon. I am able to find good products for reasonable prices without wasting time going from store to store. I highly recommend this net to others. Sorry for being so wordy but that justs shows how satisfied I am with this Pro Tuff net. Not only is this the best pool leafer/rake you can buy, but they honor their lifetime warranty as well. I live in a windy area where debris is always getting into my pool. The design of the plastic leading edge of the rake actually creates a vortex that pulls debris off the bottom of the pool and away from the edge of the tile. The stiffness of the frame holds shape and the sturdiness of the net allows you to hold a bunch of leaves without destroying itself.I had this for about 5-years when the large thread that holds the seam began to unravel. While the rest of the net and frame was fine, this left a hole from which I don't know how to sew screen back together. So I contacted ProTuff and they honored their full replacement warranty. They are sending me out a new replacement at no charge. In 2022 to receive this customer service for a product is uncommon. I am now a lifelong fan of this company.

After three years of use, part of the skimmer broke near where the pole inserts. Submitted a form online that took less than a minute to complete, and they shipped a new net no questions asked. Unheard of for a company to have this kind of customer service. The lifetime warranty is as easy as advertised. Well worth the premium cost when they are willing to stand behind their guarantees like this.

Updated 9/20/2018. After two years the skimmer net started to wear thin at the top of one side. The netting itself was separating, so we contacted customer service (sent an email with pictures of the net). Received an immediate response and a new replacement net was sent free of charge. Excellent customer service. Excellent quality, very sturdy and durable net. I would definitely purchase again although I would opt for a larger size, while this one works quite well and does the job I would prefer a slightly larger net for our pool. Note, the size of skimmer IS clearly written in the description. This net works well for both salt water and fresh water pools and I do follow the manufacturers guide (empty net and rinse out after usage as I do have a salt water pool). In the 9 months we have had this net it has not shown any indication of wear and tear and we are in active year round pool maintenance schedule.

Bought this thinking it would screw onto a paint pole or a tool handle....it does not, it needs its own pole that uses a spring detent style attachment. My pond is small enough that I still use it by hand.

Not only did the rake last for 4 years at my pool, it did wear and break on plastic part. I contact the company and requested the free lifetime replacement. In a few emails the new rake was on the way. WOW! if all companies upheld their warranty like this, people would be much happier! No gimmicks, a few easy questions like where to ship new product to and the Amazon order number and that was it.Great job ProTuff!

Wow...if only all companies were like this! I bought my rake OVER THREE YEARS AGO, and the pool chemicals finally did their thing and the plastic holding the screen basked finally gave way. Talk about simple: an email to the company with a picture of the cracked plastic and purchase details, and NO QUESTIONS ASKED, I was told a replacement was on the way, and I received it today, less than a week after I wrote. A REALLY sturdy product, and it lasted THREE years...and still I have a new one. Thank you!
