Amelia Bedelia (I Can Read Book) Paperback – Illustrated, December 26, 2012

My sons loves these books. They are entertaining and he can ready them on his own.

The story, the silly character Amelia, was funny and very relatable. Bought for a five year old, a bit advanced reading for that age, but seven year read it to her. He loved it.

Very nice book. My 6 year old loved it and it's easy for her to read and understand the content supported by nice pictures.

I've always heard of Amelia Bedelia but never actually read it. I bought a ton of books for my son and this was one of them and we both enjoyed it very much! Just watching him read and his reactions had me cracking up. This book was pretty hilarious and silly and makes reading enjoyable and fun for the kids. He actually read it twice (the second time right before bed) because he loved it so much. I purchased the whole set of Amelia Bedelia when she was younger and going to purchase as many as I can find like these when she's all grown up.

Bought this for my granddaughter whose name is Amelia. She lives it!

Good book for your emerging reader as far as simple to sound out words or figure out in context. Some of the book is written in cursive, so that is an added challenge. The jokes are based on play on words "Draw the curtains" and she draws a picture of the curtains. Some of these may not be as common of terms today, so it can be confusing for a younger child who is an early reader. We never say "draw the curtains" in our house, or many of the other dated phrases. The husband on the first page is also smoking a pipe in the car which I found to be dated as well. But a classic and a longer book that is easier to read.

I volunteer in a shelter and try to keep books on hand for kids who are new, frightened etc. These are great stories, especially when a child may be at a disadvantaged reading level. Highly recommend, and the price point makes them affordable as give aways. Kids love them,
