I couldn’t find the poultry flavor of Virbac CET toothpaste (my dogs don’t like most other toothpastes) so I tried this one. One of the dogs immediately thought it was a treat. The other, who is a chow hound, seemed not to like the smell, but once I got her to taste it, she liked it. Hard to say how well it performs compared to other toothpastes for cleaning, but I give it 4 stars simply because my dogs like it, and that makes brushing their teeth possible.

We’ve been using Petrodex Toothpaste for Dogs and Puppies with our Golden Retriever since he was a puppy, and now at 5 years old, he has no teeth or dental issues! I’ve been using this for years. It’s great stuff and the dogs absolutely love it. They actually look forward to having their teeth brushed. It must be working well, the vet said that my old dog’s teeth were a four on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the best. My other dogs teeth are great too. That’s pretty good. This is a nice, large tube, so it should last you for a while depending on the size of your dog.

I didn't notice a difference like the way arm and hammer cleaned their teeth. It didn't get rid of any plaque, instead it added more. My younger one ended up with plaque which shes never had before. Looks like it's time to go back to arm and hammer. The reason why I gave it 3 stars was because they enjoyed the taste, and to my surprise so did my cat.

I have a five year old dog who has good teeth, but he has some tartar build up from over the years. I give him greenies daily and lots of chews to keep his teeth healthy and clean. When I first got him, I brushed his teeth occasionally, but eventually stopped. Sometimes I hardly have the energy to brush my own teeth everyday, let alone my dog's, so can you blame me for stopping? After a couple years of no brushing, I decided to get back on the good dog dental hygiene train and ordered another tube of Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste. Now with just a short period of semi-regular usage, my dog's teeth look amazing! I got him when he was one and his teeth look better now at five then they did when I first got him.I've been using Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste a few times a week for the last month. The toothpaste softened and loosened the tartar that was on his back teeth, and I was able to use a tooth scaler to scrap off the tarter. The tartar came off easily in chunks. I wish I took before and after pictures because the results were fantastic. Granted my dog's teeth were not in horrible condition, so don't expect this product to work miracles, but the layer of tartar by his gums on his back teeth are completely gone. I was even able to remove the dark lines on his back teeth by his gums that I thought were his teeth going bad, but it was just deep-set tarter buildup that had darkened.I've included a picture showing my dog's teeth. I'm no dog dental expert, but his teeth look pretty good (for five years old!) if I do say so myself! All the results mentioned above were achieved with only one month of using the toothpaste, so I have no doubt that his teeth will in even better condition with a little more brushing. My dog also loves the taste of the toothpaste, which makes brushing his teeth a breeze. I highly recommend using Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste with a tooth scaler for optimal results. If you do decide to use a scaler, be careful so you don't hurt your dog's gums and do not press too hard as you may damage the enamel on the teeth. Press down gently, but firmly with the scaler against the tartar. Make sure to brush the teeth again after using the scaler as a final polish.

This dog toothpaste is the best I've ever used! I used to buy it at Petco, but they no longer carry it in stores. I was really worried I wouldn't be able to get it again, as it's the only toothpaste my dog will use. Fortunately, I found the peanut butter flavor on Amazon and was able to purchase it again. Thank you, Amazon! This is the best toothpaste for dogs, and it's the only one my Pomeranians were willing to use. It really works too...my veterinarian confirmed that during our last visit, when she said my Pomeranian's teeth looked great! I use this every day, so please never discontinue it!
