If Animals Celebrated Christmas (If Animals Kissed Good Night)

Not as good as If Animals Said I Love You (which is our favorite), but still very fun. Toddler loves all the animals.

This hardcover book is one of a series. My granddaughter likes this one the least and yet still loves it. You can get them on Amazon. There is another one coming out in July. I’ll let you know what Stella thinks about that one.

I love all of Ann Whitford Paul and David Walker's "If animals..." books, and I always keep one or two on hand for when I need a quick gift for a young child. "If Animals Celebrated Christmas" is especially adorable. The wide variety of animals in this sweet Christmas story (koala, hedgehog, turtle, penguin, beaver, crab, oryx, and more) means that every child is likely to find both old and new favorites to admire. As the title suggests, the book imagines how animals might celebrate Christmas. Through the author's fun rhyming text (This is a great read-aloud!) and the illustrator's colorful illustrations, we see that animals celebrate much like we do! They give and receive gifts, sing, decorate, cook, cuddle, and, of course, fall asleep with visions of reindeer flying through their heads. Whenever I read this story to a little one, it kicks our imaginations into high gear and we end up talking about how other animals (especially the animals we know!) might choose to celebrate. Highly recommended!! (Added bonus: it makes a great stocking stuffer!)

My grandson and I both enjoyed it! It had a couple of animals that you don't usually see in a children's book and he liked them.

These “If Animals...” books are truly some of my favorite. The words are sweet and my baby really enjoys the artwork. It’s a fun way to teach her about different animals too. We have three in the series and I hope to buy all of them. They are that good! We read this one year round!

My little one has several books from this series and they're all great. Christmas was months ago, but we still read this every day or two, usually multiple times. :)

As others have sad, this book does not flow very well, especially when compared to “If Animals Kissed Goodnight.” Some really random animals in here, cute ending though with Polar Bear Santa Claus. It worked as a stocking stuffer but my toddler won’t really sit for this one. Oh well!

This was purchased as a gift. It show how much all parents whether they are human or animal love their little ones.

It’s not nearly as good as “if animals kissed good night”. Wouldn’t purchase again, the rhythm feels forced and it’s not as cute.
