HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock 78L94AA#ABA

One small adjustment... This G5 is working great as desktop, with my Envy 360 2 in 1, HP monitor, Bose wired speakers, with plenty of connections for mouse/keyboard, phone, tablet, and SSD charging. This is an upgrade from my old reliable HP Pavilion windows 10 system that was ultra dependable for 14 years. Very easy to connect one wire to or from the PC now becomes a tablet or mobile laptop. I did have a small issue with the monitor sporadically blacking out for a brief 5-10 seconds (good break for eyestrain), but this seems to have been resolved with a firmware update for the G5, that was a very simple download. So far I am VERY pleased with this docking station, at a very fair price.

I have two of these, one at the office and one at my house. Each one holds its own set up which is fabulous. I have two screens at the office and only one at home. At the office I keep the laptop closed and just work off of the two screens, at home I use the laptop as one of my screens and the device remembers the set up, no need to modify setting to make it look the way I want.

If trying to use 3 monitors that are all display port monitors you’ll want to get an HDMI to display port cable (which comes with an extra USB cable to power the conversion) and you’ll need to connect that one directly to your HP laptop or the hub may struggle to supply the amount of power needed to use a higher resolution on one of the 3 monitors. A display port to HDMI cable (these don’t come with the little USB cable on them) will not work. Also, careful when connecting the USB-C cable. If you connect USB-C cables upside down the USB ports on the hub won’t work and it’s difficult to understand why. Connecting them upside down is easy to do if you buy an extra USB-C extension cable. If the USB ports, keyboard and mouse aren’t working try flipping the USB-C connection around. Overall, the hub works well but is a little time consuming to understand the quirks when getting the 3 monitors to work.

Excellent for home office. Needing a docking station for 2 additional monitors, keyboard and mouse. Works great.

Be careful purchasing from 3rd party. No warranty from HP because this was separated from a bundle. Monitor disconnects from HDMI for a couple of seconds several times a day. DisplayPort works good so far.

I've enjoyed this dock. Made things so much easier and is small enough for my set up!

Connectivity was very good.

Ce dock est exactement ce que je voulais et est très bien avec ses 2 DP et tous ses ports USB. Son Usbc permet même de charger le portable s'il le supporte.

Muy mal. lo devolví porque venía usado pese a venderlo como si fuera nuevo. El cargador estaba rayado entero y la clavija USBC estaba doblada.
