Cruel Boy... And So Much More!
Samantha Cook: rich, invisible... Keeper of a dark, dangerous secret...Nate Wilson: quarterback, school crush... Killer?"Like a painting, I feel as though I’m only seeing half a picture. A mood surrounding a memory. Every canvas or photo captures a single instance of time, but it doesn’t fully paint the picture." - Samantha CookSamantha Cook just wants to be left alone; allowed to continue her quiet, invisible life as a typical teenager in a high end, toney academy of learning. Too bad the school princess Layla Parker and her crony Jennifer didn't get the memo... Tormenting Sam was Layla's joy in life... That and insulting Sam's mother... Who was having an affair with Layla's father."I am the creep who stalks her. The bully who makes her feel helpless. The guy who wants what he came for." - NateNate Wilson is THE high school heartthrob; the quarterback of the football team with an attitude that's dark and dangerous... Perhaps more so than anyone knows... That is, except for Sam. She knows... She saw what happened that day."I should run and hide. Take my pride and stride out while I still own it. He could strip me bare of everything I am and throw me to the masses to be ridiculed. " - SamanthaConflicting emotions riot through Sam as she tries to come to terms with her father's adandoment, her mother's current obsession with Layla's father, her own confused feelings regarding Nate and what she saw that day at the lake... While attempting to not succumb to the sexual draw between Nate and herself..." I continue staring at that girl until she finally looks back. And when she does, it’s the best thing in the world. Those eyes, that look—full of fear, shame, and a hint of lust all wrapped into one sweet package. She’s the girl I shouldn’t want—the girl who holds the keys to my unraveling—yet I can’t stop craving the very thing I should fear. I can’t stop myself from wanting to get closer every single time I see her. Something about that girl makes me go wild." - Nate"Temptation. Filthy kisses under the night sky. And a bad boy whose dangerous gaze would make any girl’s heart crumble. I can’t fall in love with him. Anyone but him." - Sam Riveting! A suspense filled story, with hidden secrets aching to be brought into the light; sexual desires setting the pages smoldering! I couldn't put it down! Would award 10 stars of I could!

Good
Overall, I thought this was a good book. It had it's part that were hard to believe or the female character was a little too naive. But I still thought it was worth the read.

It was okay
I liked the premise of the book, and the writing wasn’t bad at all, but there were a few things that just would not let me thoroughly enjoy this book. Other than basic carnal attraction, I couldn’t see any real reason for the two characters to fall in love. Also as a young adult I found it really quite startling that the main characters had unprotected sex and that the male came inside of the girl! There was no mention of birth control or condoms or anything of the sort and I understand trying to make it seem sudden and romantic but it was just so irresponsible that I almost couldn’t even finish the book. At around 3/4ths way through I had to put the book down for a few days because I was so flabbergasted by this. I rarely do not give a book 5 stars but there were just too many plot holes to this story and overall a poor character development. If you LOVE bully romances, I’m sure this is a book to read!*spoilers* I also just found it really hard to believe that a young woman would allow some boy that she barely knows to bully and threaten her so much as to spread around a nude photo (which seriously made no sense, why would a girlfriend take a nude photo and keep it on her phone for no reason? Why did they take the photo in the first place? It would’ve been more realistic if a guy had taken it and spread it around.) and that she wouldn’t retaliate by putting out the photos she had taken. And that’s after you have to get past the fact that she didnt go to the police with the photos that implicated someone of murder in the first place!! thats a big deal! Why protect someone you don’t even know? Like okay cool, he’s freaking hot, but usually the crazy ones are, that’s not a good reason to hide incriminating evidence and then let someone be a big fat jerk to you!

Well done and suspenseful
This is a story that starts in the middle of things and then moves back and forth in time as the mystery at the heart of the story (who killed Nina Jacobs) is resolved. It does feel a little like "13 Reasons Why" in that sense, and the beginning is a bit of a mess, but it's worth soldiering on. By the fifth chapter, I was deeply invested in the characters, particularly Nate. There's clearly more than meets the eye to our bad boy hero and I really liked seeing his character unfold and develop. Sam's a good foil for him and although she is a bit of a firebrand who flies off the handle when provoked by the school's beautiful people, she never has too-stupid-to-live moments, which sets her apart from the bog-standard teenage heroine. The climax of the book is absolutely nail biting as the characters race back and forth trying to stop the inevitable. I had guessed the killers in advance of the ending, but that didn't detract from the dramatic reveal and I liked the way the romance and the mystery intertwined. It was well done.I'd recommend this book to lovers of bully and suspenseful romance and will look for other books by this author.

Not the greatest
I know this is an earlier work of Clarissa’s but honestly this just didn’t hit for me. The MMC tried to be “dark” all while kind of being weird and forcing this nonchalance about life. Plus it was laughable about him being a “rapper”. I was dying of laughter because - what?? Idk it was all very jumbled and unbelievable and just isn’t the “cruel” boy we all think about.

death, romance, drugs, sex
There’s death, bullies, sex, drugs and it’s craft-fully written. It keeps you engaged and wanting to uncover ever twist, and secrets kept in the dark.

Awesome Read
This is a home run - I love this read. I’m not big into the bully/suspense romance theme but once I started I couldn’t put it down - a home run for me. This story is about Nate and Sam and the story has a few twists that will shock you. Nate has a secret - a pretty big one that only Sam can keep buried. Sam was there and saw everything and took photos. Nate decides to try bullying her. This is a very suspenseful and intriguing read.

Dark, sexy, romance
This is the first book I have read by Clarissa Wild and definitely won't be my last. This is not my usual read but I thoroughly enjoyed "Cruel Boy" and was captivated by the characters.Nate, popular, sexy football quarterback is every girl at Falcon Prep schools crush. Sam, a strong willed, take no crap girl who's main interest is art and photography takes pictures at a year-end party that has Nate taking interest and bullying Sam. This is a dark, twisted, funny at times, enjoyable read.

A good twist
I really enjoyed this book, I thought Nate was awful but not the worst bully I’ve read about. The storyline was really good and the twist about the dead girl was really in expected. I did like Nate and Sam as a couple but I think their chemistry needed more build up.
