Leaving the White Line is the fourth release by Portland, Oregon songstress Andi Starr. Hailed as a stunning cross between The Cranberries and Aimee Mann, the songs on this melodic-driven, acoustic rock album take the listener deep into Starrs trademark soul-searching lyrics and soul-soothing voice. Starr and her band collaborated with seasoned engineer/producer Larry Crane (Elliott Smith, Cat Power, Sleater-Kinney) for the making of Leaving the White Line. Intricately woven cameo appearances of dobro, trumpet, harmonica and electric violin lend well to the lush presentation of sound. A lovely collection of gorgeously understated material, Starrs polished pop has all the emotional depth of Tori Amos but without the histrionics. The Portland Tribune
