Where have these been all my life?
I read the previous reviews and almost didn't get these, but another product came with a ceramic paring knife and I was hooked almost immediately. These KitchenAid knives are even better, with such comfortable handles. I've only used them a few days, but I suspect the reason for dissatisfaction might come from trying to treat these like heavy steel knives. Instead of whacking and chopping, a slide and some rocking motion cuts through almost everything effortlessly with ceramic knives. If you treat them gently, they will more than do the job. But they are not hammers, pry bars or screw drivers. Use the right tool for the job and you won't be disappointed.[edit: Unfortunately, the largest of these knives now has a tiny chip and faint crack in the blade. I'll continue to use it as long as I can, but I'm pretty disappointed in the short life of this knife. I have been exceedingly careful of it too. I will probably replace it with another ceramic knife, since the ease of use is highly addicting, but I may seek a better quality item next time. ]

Excellent! Please read and rate my review.
10/12/2016 Changed to one star. Most of the knives in this set have fallen apart or broken. I have changed my recommendation from 5 star to 1 star.*********************The first set of Ceramic knives I purchased was from another brand. The tips of those ceramic blades would just chip off on their own. I thought they looked pretty bad so I decided to look for another set. Here is my review....1) Ceramic Blades: First of all, I do understand that ceramic blades are sharp and stay sharp (the advantage) but are not for cutting hard things - don't even try. So, I have ONE metal blade for times like that, and the rest are a collection of ceramic bladed knives. I like these blades, and the handles are dishwasher safe - even better. Rating: 5 of 5 stars.2) Not a full tang: You know, I read the reviews of Ceramic bladed knives and there is always some reviewer complaining that it does not have a full tang. That means that the blade material goes all the way back to the handle. First of all, why would you need that for a ceramic bladed knife since you are cutting hard things with it? To even bring that up simply defies the logic for the purpose of this type of knife. Rating: N/A3) Handle Comfort: I love them! They fit my hand great. I have no complaints at all. 5 of 5 stars.4) Looks: I like the touch of chrome at the handle end of the knife. 5 of 5 stars.5) How they cut: There is an assortment of knives, and they all work really good. I used the serrated edge for soft cheese or bread. Smaller knives for slicing up smaller veggies. The largest knife I use for cutting thawed chicken breasts into strips. There is one knife in the bunch called a utility knife - just ignore that. There is no such thing as a ceramic bladed utility knife. You don't want to use them for cutting wire, plastic or any other thing that might be considered "utility" unless its soft.I am very happy with my purchase and I will be giving sets away for Christmas to friends and family. Remember, make sure you also have at least one metal knife too. Otherwise you will break these!

I really wanted to love these knives
I really wanted to love these knives but they just aren't durable. I purchased these knives back in December and one chipped shortly after purchasing it. I was disappointed because they cut so well. Today one of my big knives came completely off the handle while I was cutting something. I was so sad because they really do cute nicely but I've had these for less than six months and two have broken in different ways.

A Quality Delicate Knife
I absolutely, without reservation, like these knives!! These are NOT every day/all purpose knives. They're good for slicing/dicing & chopping fruits and vegetables. I wouldn't suggest using them for cutting in to a whole chicken or such. They're somewhat of a delicate knife but with a quality use. Extremely sharp. And I like that they won't rust. My advise... Delicate use, wash/dry and sleeve immediately after use. Do NOT soak or place in the dishwasher EVER.KitchenAid.... Love your products!! Keep'm coming.

Good set but becareful
Great knives but sadly the serrated knife broke at the tang during normal usage. I really like how they were packaged and thought the price was spot on. now that the knife is rendered useless I am not sure what to do! Great while it lasted.

Love using ceramic knives!
The price is great for sure. Seems like ther were recently redesigned. Unfortunately the knife with the serrated blade broke upon first use where knife meets handle. I was not sure what to do since there are four in a pack. How can you have one replaced? Great deal and I love using these knives. If someone will contact me about the broken knife that would be fantastic!!

Solid ceramic blades
Ceramic blades are sharper and easier to use than their metal counterparts for most applications. In particular, I use the serrated 5-inch Santoku knife for cutting bread (which cuts through bagels better than any blade I've ever owned) and the 4-inch paring knife for vegetables. I actually do prefer using a metal 6-inch chef knife because I get nervous that the large surface area on the ceramic blade could chip or crack, and the large ceramic blade seems to have more friction when cutting through large objects; however, I have no objective evidence of either of these concerns.I've had ceramic knives in the past that have chipped so I have tried to be careful with these when putting them in a drawer or on the drying rack. After a month of use, I haven't seen any evidence of chipping. The blade covers are particularly useful to protect the blades if they are kept in a drawer. Overall, I have been very impressed by these blades.
