ARCANITE USB Fingerprint Reader for Windows 11/10 Hello, 0.05s 360-Degree Sensor Security Device

This is my 2nd device Fingerprint USB Biometric device which works perfectly fine under Microsoft Windows Hello! ++ authentication, which in turn, now allows me to seamlessly login to my desktop and on OATH type application such as password managers and other Applications/Services which normally would have required 2FA or complicated, MFA and use of 2nd devices to use as authentication. Specifically, I estimate the combination of using a fingerprint as a means to validate login credentials & seemless integration into OS's Platform & Apps has speed up the entire process by a number of minites each day, which cumulatively adds up quickly. Best of all, I'm able to drop from my own brain's memory the countless variations of passwords, i had to remember previously used across multiple Devices and WebApps/Domains. This is really one of those "No-brainers" type solutions to a common problem of Keychain management (via pwd manager). Its sturdy design with metal body housing makes this unit feel robust to last many years of repeated, daily usage! Best of all, if for whatever reason the device should malfunction in the future, you have redundant fallback to either PIN/Password/Facial recognition (if enabled on App/OS) to maintain the same levels of security.. This really is a Win/Win! Simple, Fast (0.5ms) & responsive biometric authentication, all whilst maintaining high levels of secured encryption, without complex passwords. I now own 2 of these fingerprint USB devices, One is deployed onto my main BMC Server and the Second is deployed onto my Desktop machine, I will be acquiring a third for my PVE Hypervisor as a replacement for WebAuth / PAM passkey authentication.

It works really well, Windows 11 recognized it and installed it automatically and it was ready to go. Fingerprint enrolment is easy and recognition is prompt enough and accurate. You need to keep the finger maybe 2s on the reader but I think that's reasonable. My laptop's integrated finger print reader is not any better so I'm guessing the only FP reader possibly quicker than this one would be a Kensington FP reader, but for almost double the price? no thanks. The build of the reader feels solid, made of metal and not some cheap plastic and the FP area is actually really good, bigger than most laptop integrated ones. For the twenty something pounds I paid for it, I'm really happy with the product.

I plugged this into one of my spare USB ports and windows 11 didn't initially recognise the device. Tried another USB port and same again. Go into windows account settings and tried to setup using windows hello fingerprint device and it just went around in circles with taking your fingerprint and creating a pin. Gave up and rebooted my pc , with the fingerprint reader left plugged in, upon restarting windows seem to recognise the fingerprint reader and asked if it wanted to be setup....I just followed the setup steps and it now works with no issues. I also had problems with some apps asking for my fingerprint when signing in, this is a setting in Google Password Manager, settings, turn off " use windows hello when filling passwords" and email login , app login will just stay logged in. Overall, the device works well, I think it was more of a windows bug that initially tripped me up so plug it in and restart windows and it should offer you the option to setup the reader during the start up of windows.

OK, first things first - I'll admit that I am a 'techie', so might have a bit of an advantage on the install (more of that later). Installation was a breeze - plug the device in; that was it - no drivers to download and install. The Computer Management console showed it as 'installed', but I was unable to get it to enrol any fingerprints. THIS IS THE GOTCHA - if you are on a machine on a domain, Windows Group Policy disables Windows Hello be default (it's up to the domain admins whether to enable Hello or not). At this point, I manually edited the Registry and changed the entry that allows Hello to work, and hey, presto, both PIN and biometrics enabled. Unlocking the machine (Windows 11 x64, build 22H2) is as quick as the publicity states, so no long passwords required to unlock when you return to your machine - just a touch; done. I did subsequently update the drivers to the ones listed in the installation notes, in order to use the biometric password’s application, at which point, Windows 11 failed to see the device, so reverted to the original drivers installed by Windows and back to working again, but the password software did not see the key installed - not being able to use this is a small price to pay, I feel.

I've been using this for some weeks now, and it works really well. When it arrived I plugged it in, and Windows immediately recognised it and guided me through the installation process. Unlike another reader I'd tried previously, there was no need to find drivers for it. It just worked. It was a breeze to set up, and is fast and reliable in operation. I've found I don't have to look for it anymore when signing in, just reach out and tap it. I don't really think too much about getting my finger in the correct place, or anything like that, and the ease of signing in has the added security advantage that I am now much more likely to hit the lock button when I leave my PC, even if it is just a few minutes. With some fingerprint readers, people complain that they are very slow to read a print, but with this one it only seems to need the briefest tap on the sensor and it recognises me. Really impressive bit of kit.

Utterly useless. Works one time in six at best. I had one from this company years ago, and I just thought they must be much better by now. Spoiler alert: they're not. I've lost count of how many times I've redone my fingerprints. Sometimes that makes a difference for a day or two. All I've done is add a delay to starting my PC. Try fingerprint x 3, then Windows says to use a PIN, enter PIN. This is all on a desktop PC with Windows 11. A complete waste of money.

I’m thrilled with the ARCANITE USB Fingerprint Reader! It’s super easy to set up and works flawlessly with Windows 11. The 0.05s response time is impressive, and the 360-degree sensor ensures it works from any angle. Adding fingerprint recognition to my laptop has been a game-changer—quick and secure login every time! Highly recommend!

Supplied in typical card/bubble plastic (like a MicroSD memory card). Fitted into laptop easily without being overnight or overloose. Initially not detected by laptop USB port on righthand side (user right-handed). Moved device to left side USB port and device found and drivers loaded. Now works in both left and righthand USB ports. Using Windows 11 Pro 22H2 scanned fingerprints on each hand. Process was reasonably straight forward once best scanning technique was found. Other fingerprint scanned easily. In use, this was were things went downhill. At best only managed about 20% success rate with unlocking the laptop (Windows) using the fingerprint reader. Also was hoping this would work with Bitwarden Password Manager and whilst the Windows Client worked OK, integration into the Web Browser add-ins either didn't work or was even less successful/reliable. After a lot of online research it appeared that is was unlikely to fit required use case and and improvement in reliability, so reluctantly had to return.

Seems to work well with Windows Hello, pretty fast to register. Only thing to note is that it doesn't seem to work with an extension on USB 3.0 ports, at least for me. Solution was to use the extension with a 2.0 port and it worked fine. If you are getting the exclamation mark on the device when you look at the Biometric devices section on Windows Device Manager try using a USB 2.0 port.

Facebook,youtube vs gibi daha bir çok site için de yine kendi resmi sitesinden indireceğiniz smart-id yazılımı ile parmak izi ile oturum açma özelliği var. Bu sitelerde oturum açma bilgilerini saklayıp her sistem kurduğunuzda smart-id programına import ederek kullanabiliyorsunuz. Şu an için bir sorun yaşamadan kullanıyorum. Bilgisayarı her açtığımda şifre girme derdinden kurtuldum. Alacak kişilere kesinlikle tavsiye ederim...

Worth every penny. This tiny USB fingerprint reader completely solved a daily annoyance in my desk setup. I keep my laptop closed and connected to external monitors, and this allows me to securely log in with my fingerprint without ever opening the lid. Setup was quick, recognition is fast and reliable, and it integrates seamlessly with my laptop’s existing fingerprint login. A small accessory that makes a big difference in convenience and workflow—especially if you use an external monitor setup full time.
