Soy Soap Base Glycerine Soap Base- 5lb

I used this base as a substitute for goats milk soap base because my husband is allergic. It is my new favorite creamy melt and pour soap base. The suds are great, and it takes both color and fragrance well. Some of my favorite recipies with this soap involve adding kaolin clay. Adding jojoba oil, kaolin clay and essential oils made an awesome shaving bar. Adding tea tree oil, lavender oil, some finely ground lavender flowers and kaolin clay made a fabulous face soap. I'm hoping the price will go back down to the prior cost to make this more affordable.

Makes great soap bars! They are white, but takes on colors when colors are added to the melted mixture. Suds up just fine! I've already given some as a gift.

Nice soap base. Easy to melt, lathers nicely and leaves skin smooth.

Great to work with, however can only create primary colors (blue, red, etc...) in small pieces. There is a unique smell but will be eliminated quickly with a fragrance oil. Pours into and easily pops out of silicon molds. It lathers pretty well.EDITED: I created diamond shaped soaps and gave them out as a vegan friendly favor to my guests and to a few friends and got so many compliments. A few people told me how well it worked on their skin (even children with sensitive skin allergies), not leaving it feeling dry and cracked. So I began mixing this soap with some coconut oil, olive oil, tumeric and oatmeal for a face soap. My face has never been more smooth and looks so clear. I look forward to purchasing more.

Texture is weird. Almost like a rubbery plastic. Does not lather that great

This worked very well for me in a pinch. I usually make my own soap the old fashioned way but found I am running out of time for Christmas gifts. It melts well and is easy to work with. Takes color and fragrance well.

I decided to go with the soy version thinking it would be nice; however, it is very difficult to work with after it melts. I used the microwave in small batches and when all the soap was melted, i found it was already forming a film on the top. I was able to stir it up and add some oils and lavender, but I was not happy with the texture. Maybe it needed some color or other additions, but I feel like I could have just cut up the bar I received and used it as it was shipped. The soap lathers well and does make your skin feel soft, but I will not be purchasing again and will go back to my original purchase of goat's milk soap base.
