So you want a cozy fire but don't have money to burn. This cool paper log maker produces a fire-ready brick shaped log that is a cost-effective solution to buying firewood (not cheap these days), chopping down someone else's tree (anti-social, possibly illegal and not recommended) or planting a tree and waiting 20 years. You get everything you need to make clean burning, low-smoke logs out of newspapers, junk mail, cardboard, wood chips, wrapping paper and more. It is easy to use and built to last.

No directions
I am really hoping that this turns out to be a good investment. I still subscribe to a daily newspaper so I have a steady supply of material and this sounds like a good alternative to recycling. However, the product did not come with any directions. I figured out the mechanics of it by looking at the picture on the box, but I am assuming that one must dampen the newspapers to get them to retain a brick like shape. How much water is necessary, how big of a mess does this make, etc? If anyone has any experience with this, I would love to hear your discoveries, suggestions, etc. Thanks.

Good idea, cheaply made.
It's a good idea, and makes good logs. Unfortunately, it broke after about 6 logs. Since it's past my 30 days, I can't return or replace it.Cheaply made garbage.

The process that this takes to actually make the logs ...
The process that this takes to actually make the logs is ridiculous! We would never soak newspapers and form the results together to make these logs...maybe someone would but we wouldn't! I just didn't know how it worked, I'm sure this will work if you're willing to invest the time it would take to do it.
