Plumb PakChrome Keeney 2048PCLF 1/2-Inch FIP by 3/8-Inch O.D. Quarter Turn Angle Valve

Worked fine on my threaded pipe for a bathroom sink faucet. Not a lot for my wrench to grab onto (just 2 little flat areas, one on each side) but it worked. The only tool I needed for the install was an adjustable wrench. Oh, and a bucket and towel. (If this is your first time don't forget to turn off the water where it comes into the house and run the faucet until it stops.)The quarter turn valve is an improvement over my old valves, and the overall quality seems okay but it's hard to tell with the chrome coating. I've got two of these on another sink that have lasted several years now.Still, from experience I recommend a water alarm under every sink in the house. I've had good luck with the GE Personal Security Water Leak Alarm available on amazon.

I MAKE THIS REVIEW BASED ON THE FACT I HAVE 3 DIFFERENT BRANDS IN MY HAND AT THE SAME TIME. THE ONE BRAND HAS ALL SIDES TO CATCH A WRENCH AND A LARGER FLOW HOLE. THE 3RD HAS THE SAME FLOW HOLE SIZE BUT IS OF MUCH BETTER QUALITY ON THE OUTSIDE. WONT BUY THIS BRAND AGAIN. PAIN IN THE A.. TRYING TO GET A WRENCH ON ONLY 2 SIDES CONFINED BEHIND A TOILET TANK TO WALL. THE OTHER BRAND ON AMAZON IS A BETTER CHOICE.

It was gust so easy to install. It took just about 10 minute for both valve.

Very high quality 1/4 turn valve. Clean threads, went on to old galvanized pipe easily and didn't leak or break. Firm but easy to turn 1/4 turn valve handle. Not much more you can ask for out of a shut off valve. As a maintenance contractor for several apartment complexes and rental properties for the last 20+ years I've replaced dozens of shut off valves.

Mfg advertises that this valve is lead free. Nothing on packaging/box has that stipulation. Instead, there is a Cancer and Reproductive Health warning. Valve does work well but not as hefty as 15 year old valve it replaces. They warn not to over tighten because stress. Fine for toilets, I am using it in distiller where there is concern of lead contamination.

After replacing the flapper, I went to turn the water back on and managed to bust the valve...lol. This one worked great.
