Works great!!
Worked perfect! I ran a Blu-ray disk and it ran great. I was most interested in the BD capability since BD drives are much more expensive. I can say that it is a BD 5x and region free. No eject button so you will have to eject via OS. It is a great value and I highly recommend!

With slimline sata cable this reads and writes dvds
I bought this expecting to write bluray disks with it, ,but it only reads blurayand doesn't write them. I had to get the slimline sata to sata cable toget it to connect to my usb sata interface, so it didn't come out as cheap and fast as I had hoped.Still a pretty good buy in bluray drive terms.

Nice fit in small pc case, fast.
Works really well. Fast. Had a small dent on one side, I don't know if it was done during packaging, or shipping, but it was easily fixed, with no effect on the mechanical workings.

Loud and slow, but slim. Check Region code first.
At first, I thought my unit was defective. It wouldn't read my DVD and simply kept spinning and spinning- so I immediately filed for a return.Upon further investigation however, it turns out that the DVD Region was set for 2 (Europe, Japan, etc.) and I was trying to play a Region 1 (USA) disc. After fixing that in Windows 10 (Device Manager) it is successfully working and I will be keeping it.The unit itself is a bit noisy when it's spinning- makes a high pitched whine. It is also slower than normal 5.25 drives. Ripping my DVD maxes out at 5.3M/s or about 4.0x. Haven't tested a Blu-ray yet, but I'm not expecting too much.

replaced a failed drive in my laptop
exactly what I needed to replace a failed drive. works just fine in my laptop, easy install per laptop mfg instructions.

Bezeless slot load 9.5mm drive works great
Bought this specifically for my small form factor desktop pc. It’s a Lenovo Ideacentre 510s-08ish. Pros are that seems to be working so far and shipped/arrived fast. Cons are it’s rather load and it just spits out the discs. But that’s not the fault of anyone, just didn’t realize the bezel would be needed for smooth take out and external eject button.

Need more than this disk player for Blue Ray
BD disk player purchased here seemed good, but needs software to go with it which was very difficult to find, or even purchase. Indeed I gave up on trying to make my laptop play "game of thrones"
