Loose the tension headaches of sewing by reading this thread tension resolving guide.
This small guide made a big impact and perfect sense to me to make every sewing machine in my home (7 to be exact) to be adjuster by myself and all of them came out perfect! He did it with humor and good explanations even this 71 year old woman could comprehend! My oldest machines is an 1881 Treadle, and my newest is a fancy embroidery machine of 2022. This book worked for all of the ones in between also! Thank you for writing it! - Mrs. Steve conn

very informative
It’s very informative and fun to read. I learned a lot. I’m going to read his other sewing machine books.

Great book
This book is so very well-written! I sat down to try to sew faux leather for the first time on my vintage machine this afternoon, and I had such a time. Giant birds' nests everywhere! I ended up alternating between this book and Mr. Askaroff's "The Ultimate Sewing Machine Fault Finder". Both turned out to be necessary, because as I tried different things suggested in the tension book, I decided a new needle wouldn't hurt. And I put that needle in facing the wrong way and never noticed, because that's direction you insert needle for my other sewing machine.I was so happy I bought those two books today. A short time of reading and trying things, and I was back to working on my sewing project. But I wrote down the tension setting and stitch length, because I have no desire to struggle like that again. ;)

Excellent info for the sewist who wants to get things done
Some of this was already known to me, but this is a good summary. Tension issues and threading issues account for most of what goes wacky when sewing and being able to get these ducks in a nice row by oneself beat having to take the machine to the shop (a hassle) and have the technician say "it was just mis-threaded" or "your tension was out of balance."The other troubleshooting one, the one on kindle only, is also good.

Helpful - Mostly To The Point
This is a fundamental short text on sewing machine thread tension. Straight forward explanation of the upper and lower tensions required, and how most machines tension thread. It's a useful text. He also addresses a few tips on thread suitability that make it a worthwhile purchase. In the interest of simplicity he omits the use of tension gauges to check bobbin tension. It's worth the 6 dollars for the things he shares. Nice pamphlet.

Alex Askaroff never disappoints!
A very well written book. Chock full of information and yet witty enough to entertain. Mr. Askaroff has a genuine love of sewing machines and it shows. Thank you, Sir, for making my sewing more enjoyable!

Not a complete guide.
Not a complete guide to sewing machine tension. A basic primer at best. This is a good start for someone that knows nothing about setting tension, but it is far from complete. A waste of money all this information is available for free on YouTube.
